Why God made Adobe Photoshop (or, The Current State of 'Truth in Advertising')

(Most of you folk at home have probably seen this set of pics already - it was a big issue in showbiz circles a couple of weeks ago, but I still can't get over how the layout guys on the project went overboard on this. Man. You coulda saved money and just did a CGI character, you know.)

Here is one of a series of posters for the 2007 calendar made by Ginebra San Miguel, featuring local young actress Angelica Panganiban. This is the After picture:

There's lots more where these pics came from (it's all over the net), but I think these two are more than enough.

I'm sure she is a nice girl and all, but Hello? You can retouch, sure. We do that in the office for our magazine covers, to cover up a blemish or two, and maybe rub out the occasional stretch mark, but hey, this is a bit much. Methinks the graphic designers imbibed a bit too much of the client's products while burning the midnight oil finishing this project.
