Dear Yuletide Giftwriter:
You are awesome, and you should feel awesome. That being said, I hope you don't stress out too much about the fandoms that I am requesting. I am super easy to please, I promise you. People writing stuff for me is the best feeling in the world.
Here are some facts about me:
- I am 24 years old.
- I am currently teaching English in France.
- I am multi-lingual.
- I play drums and surf.
My journal is public, please look over it. And ignore emo posts, sorry about that.
So, I'm sure you don't care about all this, and are just wanting to get to the prompts.
If you're playing the home game, three of the four prompts have something to do with Tom Hardy. It's a sickness.
MY FOUR FANDOMS, AND PROMPTS
1. Cape Wrath/Meadowlands
IMDB LINK This is a show about a family who is living in a neighbourhood that is a Witness Protection Program. The whole neighbourhood. Crazy stuff goes down, but unfortunately, it was cancelled after eight episodes, as most awesome things are. My favourite characters are Jack Donnelly, Tom Tyrell and Mark Brogan. I also like Samantha (no surname).
What I would really like to see is a pre-canon imagining of Jack Donnelly or Tom Tyrell, since their backstories were both sort of shady.
highlight for spoilers Donnelly is a rapist, but he has a mental problem where he gets off on peoples' fears. I sort of want an exploration of how this came to be. Tyrell is a journalist, and sort of a Sherlock Holmesian type character. If I could stretch, perhaps I would like to have them meet.
what i like: dark themes, car chases, blood, epistolary type stories.
what i don't like: necrophilia, bestiality, non-con (except in flashback to relay a story), and m-preg.
2. Deserter or Simon: An English Legionnaire
IMDB LINK This is a very powerful movie about an Englishman (Simon Murray), who joins the French Foreign Legion and fights in the Algerian War of Independence. He's joined by other foreign nationals, including Pascal Dupont, who is a crazy Belgian.
highlight for spoilers Dupont is the deserter, sort of. There's a lot of homoerotic stuff in this film, and it's all around a very good war film, with a lot of action and drama and a lot of heartbreak. I totally ship Dupont/Murray, but there is no way that their story ends happily, seeing as
highlight for spoilers Murray ends up shooting Dupont.
I want Dupont's backstory. Why is he crazy? How did he learn that piss mixed with a LOT of water tastes like the sea (this happened in the movie)? You can penetrate the film, and, of course, if you've seen it, explore Dupont's utter homosexuality. And how Murray, who is sort of straight-laced and still in love with his girl back home, reacts to Dupont's ever increasing tries to get in his pants. Also, this is film canon: if Dupont didn't have to wear a shirt, he didn't. Ever.
what i like: foreign languages, guns, discussions of war, sharing (water, clothes, etc)., Murray taking pictures of Dupont (Murray was in charge of photographing war dead, but he had sole use of the Brownie camera until he broke it).
what i don't like: a happy ending. this is sort of an angst filled movie.
3. RPF - Stuart, a Life Backwards
IMDB LINK Beyond this being such a brilliant film, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy are two amazing English actors who have seriously sky-rocketed to fame. They are also truly close friends who will be starring in another film together, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (which I am SO EXCITED for, because HOLY SHIT I LOVED that book). To get a sense of their closeness, take a sneak peak at this here
interview, where Tom talks about smacking Benedict in the face with his cock. I'm not kidding.
I want bromance with a side of hot sex. Tom is an intense person, and before the filming of this movie, wherein he plays a drug-addicted homeless man, he had just finished rehab for his own addiction to crack-cocaine. He also tends to do everything in his life to extremes. Benedict is a posh, intense, sarcastic, and wry human being. I'm sure two intense guys doing an intense film like this, where Benedict probably worries about Tom relapsing, makes from some excellent drama.
fact: Tom Hardy is a cam-whore. He kept a myspace up until very recently, and he sends pictures with little captions to tom-hardy.org, if you're curious.
fact: Tom Hardy has admitted to sleeping with men, up until three years ago (Stuart was made three years ago).
fact: Benedict comes from money, whereas Tom is distinctly middle-class and a bit of rough trade.
what i like: Tom's addiction to his phone, funny blog posts (from Tom or Benedict), behind the scenes during filming, rain, DRINKING TEA, sexual bromance
what i don't like: too much drama/angst. Benedict (Benny) can worry about Tom but don't let it go overboard.
4. RPF - Sherlock (TV, 2010)
IMDB LINK Regardless of some of its inherent problems, I literally fell in love with this series. Also, I have seen every film that Martin Freeman has ever done, and he's my secret English boyfriend. Along with Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Whatever, we can have a nice orgy.
Martin Freeman is brilliant, funny and also super intelligent. He's so self-deprecating and still so wise and god, he uses big words correctly and I like his silly haircut and he's just a very awesome sort of guy. I poked around youtube to find a good interview with him, but they're all so good, so take your pick. Anyway, I've already talked about why Benedict is great, so you should check out Martin and Benedict talking
here and see how brilliant they are; they seem friendly and they finish each other's sentences.
extras:
-
see martin talk about himself, and how interesting and thoughtful he is.
-
see benedict read "little red hen" and watch out for your ovaries.
what i like: wittiness, sarcasm, first kisses, DRINKING TEA, sharing beds, behind the scenes during filming.
what i don't like: since this is the RPF side of this show, I want ZERO angst. They're just two bros who take it a step further.
Once again, you are awesome and should feel awesome, and thanks for writing a story for me! :D
