O HAI. I've been chained to my desk for the last few months, writing endless reports for work. You know how sometimes you scribble a motivational word or two with a ballpoint pen on the back of your hand, or on the inside of your wrist? (Like a subliminal message, only more... comatose. No? Don't look at me like that.)
At the end of the month, my string of 'inspirational' words had devolved into just one: WRISOMIFU. (As in,
wrisomifu)
And it seemed to work. \o/
I'm sharing some music that got me through the writing:
A) Songs without words. (These work better for me when I'm struggling with the actual writing part. When I'm doing anything programmy or mathy, however, I can listen to anything--classical, rap, chimps jumping on trash cans, etc--and not be distracted.)
Dawn Across the Snow, by Jeff Rona & Lisa Gerrard
She is My Strength, by Robin Guthrie
I listened to this one on repeat because it's so calm and soothing.
Your Hands are Cold, from the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack.
B) The other kind, the chimps jumping on trash cans kind. Except much nicer.
I Wish You Love, by Rachael Yamagata
This is the slower version of the song. Very pretty.
Human, by Civil Twilight
The song used in that episode of House with Mira Sorvino as a guest star.
Take! Enjoy!
