I went to a Berkeley Haas Business School recruiting thing last night. Boring. My butt hurt so bad. There was really good food at this one, but I'd already eaten. (I can't find dosas anywhere in SD (Indian crepe thing) except at this place in a Sorrento food court.) It was at Qualcomm at the location and its fancy technology was more interesting than the presentation. The U of Chicago one was like watching Transformers compared to this... which would be like watching Remains of the Day or Howard's End.
We had a recruiter from Berkeley come to my high school and I was sick of them. They said, "Don't even bother to apply if you don't have a 3.4 GPA." Pfft. Then I went on the campus tour with my dad and the student guide was such a pain-in-the-ass that we left before it was over. I believe I said, "I'm not going to get in here anyway, and I don't want to have to suffer through this anymore." Where did I end up going? Berkeley. Yup yup.
So I hope I don't sound like they do. I'm happy I went there and I have some school spirit, but I don't really like telling people where I went because a lot of people make a really big deal about it. (We called the business students Haas Holes, but their program seems to be focused on good things: corporate social responsibility, raising funds for students to go on summer internships with nonprofits, etc.)
Anyway, tonight is the red-eye to Atlanta and I'm thrilled. I keep thinking, "Go shuttlecocks!" and then realizing that it's gamecocks. Shuttlecocks are those things you hit in badminton-but they would be a really cool mascot.
