I think, at the moment, I'm all written out. Anyone who follows my real person fandom blog
scandalbaby knows I've been on a Sherlock/Doctor Who writing kick, churning out 40K in a little less than two weeks. And I keep looking at my half-finished
bleachbigbang fic and making faces because it does not make me happy, and there's really not enough time to start over from scratch. So I suppose there will be one less entry come April 15th's check-in. ::sigh:: At least I haven't posted it, so I can use it for
au_bigbang and give it the overhaul it needs.
It's apathy with the fandom, I think. Even without the Wholock stories consuming my brain I haven't felt the same pull to Bleach since this new arc started. And a lot of it has to do with the fandom and not the storyline. There's so little support in this fandom for writers of fic. I see it i other fandoms as well, but here, it's almost as though if you're not writing one of the major pairings yo get no love from fandom. And I like strange pairings. I like AUs that take place away from canon. I like the weird stuff. And after a while it gets hard to work up the enthusiasm to write something that will largely get ignored.
Since I won't be adding the fic for
bleachbigbang, I can concentrate on smaller pieces for a bit. I owe
unwritten_icons fic for the extra userpics, and I want to make sure I get those posted at least by the end of the month. And while not smaller I do want to also try and finish my Ishida/Orihime WIP (I just need to figure out what to have them do for a date). And, of course, finish the other fic for
au_bigbang. So I guess, really, I'm continuing my limited hiatus for a bit while I see if I can still function in this fandom.
