mystery solved. i received no fewer than 3 more text messages, all relating to her arrival in new york. she's shooting a video in queens, (thinks the text messager). does anyone know where in queens? (asks the text messager). it's the re-appearance of dirty british dude! did i mention he's ACTUALLY freelance paparazzi? and how the hell do i know where she's shooting a video?
i've been plagued by old people for several days. we have an elder hostel of 12 people staying, and they are more trouble than a dining hall full of guests. they are demanding and talk about their ailments and have weird requests and go "pst!" or point vigorously to get my attention. tips? hah! and they weren't even alive during the depression!
a few of them are very nice, including a little old german lady who reminds me of fritz, my high school teacher. they have all, without my assistance, segregated themselves into the group I think of as the nice but odd people, and the group i know to be the crotchety old mean people.
