In which Brendon and Ryan aren't really the cowherd and the weaver
This one is based off of the cowherd and the weaver fairytale.
MOAR UNFINISHED STUFF. Sorry, we get easily distracted by new plots. This one's also from January. (Most of these are before Big Bang started hahaha...)
[10:41:49AM] hyunbin: so my idea for the woodcutter and the fairy! is that brendon is the woodcutter role, and the fairy is obviously ryan
[10:42:07AM] hyunbin: but they meet when brendon is little!

[10:42:38AM] hyunbin: brendon runs away from home into the woods, as much as little kids run away. he got angry at his brothers so he ran into the woods!
[10:43:57AM] tardis80: ooooooh yes! and he finds a pool!
[10:44:19AM] hyunbin: and little innocent brendon sees ryan swimming with spencer. ryan's not really for talking with brendon but he's little, so ryan grudgingly stays and brendon joins them

[11:25:37AM] hyunbin: but he tells brendon there's one way: if he hides ryan's scarf, ryan won't be able to go home!

[11:26:30AM] hyunbin: spencer sighs and sits brendon down, telling him just who the two of them are

[11:27:47AM] tardis80: he just hides the scarf he thinks it's a family heirloom or something and really he doesn't want to ask too many questions.
[11:28:20AM] tardis80: so brendon goes to visit ryan for maybe the last time. he has so many things to think about!
[11:28:39AM] hyunbin: does he love ryan enough to be with him forever?
[11:28:49AM] hyunbin: he thinks he does
[11:28:53AM] hyunbin: but he doesn't know if ryan does
[11:30:03AM] tardis80: when he reaches the pool the leaves are just starting to yellow a bit. and ryan is sitting at the edge, alone. ryan raises his head at brendon't approach. his face is full of sorrow and regret and a maybe a little hope.
[11:30:23AM] tardis80: "brendon, i'm so sorry," he says. "i never meant to hurt you"
[11:30:53AM] hyunbin: spencer made ryan come! ryan wasn't going to come again because brendon didn't want to see him in july, but spencer convinces him to go to the meeting place by the lake.
[11:31:15AM] tardis80: "you could have told me you were betrothed," brendon says reproachfully. ryan bows his head.
[11:32:31AM] tardis80: "at first i didn't say anything because it was unimportant. it was just something that would happen to me in the future. and then, i started falling in love with you... and then i didn't want to think about it anymore."
[11:32:58AM] tardis80: brendon looks at ryan carefully. he doesn't let himself smile yet. "you're in love with me?"
[11:33:28AM] tardis80: ryan nods. "then can't you just tell your father that you don't want to marry that other person?"
[11:33:57AM] hyunbin: ryan looks down at his feet and shuffles his feet. "i-it's not that easy. the person's really important and the marriage is kind of political."
[11:34:24AM] tardis80: ryan shakes his head. he looks so serious and pale. "you don't understand my family, brendon. i can't"
[11:35:05AM] tardis80: after a long pause brendon says, "what if you were unable to go back home?"
[11:35:25AM] tardis80: "what do you mean?"
[11:35:56AM] tardis80: brendon whips off hte scarf that's been lying across ryan's shoulders. "what if i did this?"
[11:46:22AM] tardis80: and ryan is still for a minute, his eyes confused. "brendon, what?"
[11:47:24AM] tardis80: "spencer told me if i took your scarf, then that would make you stay with me." he looks hard at ryan. "is this what you want?"
[11:47:32AM] tardis80: and ryan says yets M3

[11:47:52AM] tardis80: argh i can't type
[11:48:04AM] hyunbin: "you need to hide the scarf somewhere no one can find, brendon."

[11:49:13AM] tardis80: there are totally like laws. if a human hides your clothes, it is totally okay to stay with said human and broken engagements are okay

[11:50:01AM] tardis80: YES and once you get your clothes back, you're compelled to return home.
[11:50:28AM] tardis80: and brendon does that and ryan stays.

[11:55:56AM] tardis80: so when he thinks brendon's not looking, he'll magic the food to be not burnt and to taste okay

[11:07:54AM] tardis80: ryan is strangely quiet and the songs he sings that night are sad. brendon puts a hand on his shoulder and asks him if everything is alright. ryan opens his mouth and then shuts it a few times. "i can't come here anymore," he says

[11:14:58AM] tardis80: ryan colors and turns away, "i have to get married on my 18th birthday," he spills out, as if saying it fast will lessen the pain of it.
[11:17:31AM] hyunbin: this comes as a shock to brendon as the two of them have gotten pretty touchy feely at this point!
[11:17:43AM] tardis80: ahahaha. have they kissed yest?
[11:17:46AM] hyunbin: there's a lot of hand holding and heads on shoulders and falling asleep with head on each other's legs!
[11:17:51AM] hyunbin: perhaps just on the cheek?
[11:18:33AM] hyunbin: or maybe a little more
[11:18:36AM] hyunbin: they're getting older!
[11:18:37AM] hyunbin: sooooo
[11:19:44AM] tardis80: and brendon is really surprised and kind pissed off too!
[11:19:52AM] hyunbin: maybe seriously making out! at this point!
[11:19:56AM] hyunbin: yes. definitely angry
[11:19:58AM] tardis80: what was he, some kind of plaything?
[11:20:22AM] hyunbin: angry and hurt because ryan's apparently been betrothed to this person since he was a baby?!
[11:20:56AM] hyunbin: or well, for QUITE a while now >:(
[11:22:14AM] hyunbin: oh man.
[11:22:19AM] tardis80: and he thinks that ryan was just using him or something, that he was playing with the poor woodcutter's son

[11:23:19AM] hyunbin: BEGINNING OF AUGUST?

[11:23:31AM] hyunbin: and ryan is kind of devastated
[11:23:37AM] tardis80: DDDDDDDDDD:
[11:23:53AM] hyunbin: and spencer comes and is like 'you are an idiot. ryan has no choice in this.'
[11:24:24AM] tardis80: spencer actually shows up at brendon's house? * __ *
[11:24:33AM] hyunbin: yes! :D
[11:25:03AM] hyunbin: he excuses himself to brendon's family and drags brendon out and gives him a stern talking
[11:25:10AM] tardis80: eee! and so brendon goes teh next month
[11:25:11AM] hyunbin: and then he explains everything, i think
[11:25:20AM] hyunbin: very hesitantly!
[11:25:30AM] tardis80: brendon is still wary!
[11:25:37AM] hyunbin: but he tells brendon there's one way: if he hides ryan's scarf, ryan won't be able to go home!
[11:25:37AM] tardis80: and heartbroken really
[11:25:56AM] tardis80: and brendon is all ???
[11:26:12AM] hyunbin: yes!
[11:26:30AM] hyunbin: spencer sighs and sits brendon down, telling him just who the two of them are
[11:26:46AM] tardis80: OOOOOOOOOR you can keep it a secret
[11:27:00AM] hyunbin: oooh
[11:27:02AM] hyunbin: maybe just be like
[11:27:03AM] tardis80: like brendon doesn't know!
[11:27:16AM] hyunbin: 'brendon, if you take ryan's scarf and hide it, he can stay with you.'
[11:27:33AM] hyunbin: 'you guys can just be a normal couple and live a humble life.'
[11:27:47AM] tardis80: he just hides the scarf he thinks it's a family heirloom or something and really he doesn't want to ask too many questions.
[11:28:20AM] tardis80: so brendon goes to visit ryan for maybe the last time. he has so many things to think about!
[11:28:39AM] hyunbin: does he love ryan enough to be with him forever?
[11:28:49AM] hyunbin: he thinks he does
[11:28:53AM] hyunbin: but he doesn't know if ryan does
[11:30:03AM] tardis80: when he reaches the pool the leaves are just starting to yellow a bit. and ryan is sitting at the edge, alone. ryan raises his head at brendon't approach. his face is full of sorrow and regret and a maybe a little hope.
[11:30:23AM] tardis80: "brendon, i'm so sorry," he says. "i never meant to hurt you"
[11:30:53AM] hyunbin: spencer made ryan come! ryan wasn't going to come again because brendon didn't want to see him in july, but spencer convinces him to go to the meeting place by the lake.
[11:31:15AM] tardis80: "you could have told me you were betrothed," brendon says reproachfully. ryan bows his head.
[11:32:31AM] tardis80: "at first i didn't say anything because it was unimportant. it was just something that would happen to me in the future. and then, i started falling in love with you... and then i didn't want to think about it anymore."
[11:32:58AM] tardis80: brendon looks at ryan carefully. he doesn't let himself smile yet. "you're in love with me?"
[11:33:28AM] tardis80: ryan nods. "then can't you just tell your father that you don't want to marry that other person?"
[11:33:57AM] hyunbin: ryan looks down at his feet and shuffles his feet. "i-it's not that easy. the person's really important and the marriage is kind of political."
[11:34:24AM] tardis80: ryan shakes his head. he looks so serious and pale. "you don't understand my family, brendon. i can't"
[11:35:05AM] tardis80: after a long pause brendon says, "what if you were unable to go back home?"
[11:35:25AM] tardis80: "what do you mean?"
[11:35:56AM] tardis80: brendon whips off hte scarf that's been lying across ryan's shoulders. "what if i did this?"
[11:46:22AM] tardis80: and ryan is still for a minute, his eyes confused. "brendon, what?"
[11:47:24AM] tardis80: "spencer told me if i took your scarf, then that would make you stay with me." he looks hard at ryan. "is this what you want?"
[11:47:32AM] tardis80: and ryan says yets M3
[11:47:37AM] tardis80: * <3
[11:47:47AM] tardis80: *yes
[11:47:52AM] tardis80: argh i can't type
[11:48:04AM] hyunbin: "you need to hide the scarf somewhere no one can find, brendon."
[11:48:25AM] tardis80: "and you can't give it back to me, ever"
[11:49:13AM] tardis80: there are totally like laws. if a human hides your clothes, it is totally okay to stay with said human and broken engagements are okay
[11:49:49AM] hyunbin: only if you don't know where your clothes are though!
[11:50:01AM] tardis80: YES and once you get your clothes back, you're compelled to return home.
[11:50:28AM] tardis80: and brendon does that and ryan stays.
[11:50:31AM] tardis80: do they get married?
[11:50:56AM] hyunbin: :D yesssss
[11:50:59AM] hyunbin: brendon takes ryan home!
[11:51:06AM] hyunbin: and introduces him to his parents!
[11:51:47AM] tardis80: eee
[11:52:08AM] tardis80: and then brendon discovers that ryan is kinda faily at everyday chores
[11:52:27AM] tardis80: like he can't boil water at first
[11:52:28AM] hyunbin: his parents are like "oh. oh so YOU'RE the one who's had our brendon distracted for so long."
[11:52:35AM] tardis80: ahahah yes
[11:52:46AM] tardis80: and he cuts his fingers on everything
[11:55:28AM] tardis80: can ryan do magic?
[11:55:32AM] hyunbin: i think so!
[11:55:43AM] hyunbin: but it's sort of a secret.
[11:55:56AM] tardis80: so when he thinks brendon's not looking, he'll magic the food to be not burnt and to taste okay
[11:55:57AM] hyunbin: he wants to live with brendon like a normal person
[11:56:06AM] hyunbin: it frustrates ryan a lot though!
[11:56:11AM] hyunbin: but brendon finds it endearing
[11:56:32AM] tardis80: sometimes brendon looks at ryan, all amazed and murmurs, what planet are you from? and ryan blushes
[11:58:16AM] hyunbin: and he'll take ryan's hand and leans in to give him a kiss and then wander off to fix what ryan failed to do
[11:58:21AM] hyunbin: brendon doesn't mind!
[11:58:38AM] tardis80: XD
[11:59:00AM] tardis80: and theeeeeeeeeeen ryan finds the scarf again D:

[11:59:25AM] hyunbin: BRENDON'S MOM VISITS
[11:59:31AM] hyunbin: and finds the scarf when she cleans!
[11:59:45AM] tardis80: oh man YES
[11:59:48AM] hyunbin: she brings the scarf to ryan going "honey, i think this is yours"
[11:59:58AM] tardis80: and he's HORRIFIED
[12:00:02PM] hyunbin: the worst part is that BRENDON'S NOT HOME
[12:00:02PM] tardis80: brendon is there too
[12:00:05PM] hyunbin: nooo
[12:00:07PM] tardis80: OH NOES
[12:00:08PM] hyunbin: brendon's not home!
[12:00:19PM] hyunbin: and ryan is obligated to leave IMMEDIATELY
[12:00:25PM] tardis80: so he doesn't even get to say goodbye?!!!
[12:00:43PM] hyunbin: and he's all pale as he winds the scarf around his neck
[12:01:16PM] tardis80: (the scarf starts glowing and floating over to ryan, winding itself around his neck. and ryan starts to float as well)
[12:01:30PM] hyunbin: mrs. urie has no idea what's going on!
[12:01:51PM] hyunbin: ryan rubs at his eye. "please tell brendon I'm sorry."
[12:02:13PM] hyunbin: *eyes
[12:02:42PM] tardis80: "i didn't mean -- this wasn't supposed to happen." his voice gets fainter as he floats higher and higher and then he's out of sight.
[12:03:18PM] hyunbin: and it's not just flying, i think
[12:03:28PM] hyunbin: he glows and grows a little fainter
[12:03:35PM] tardis80: yes
[12:03:47PM] tardis80: and omg how does brendon react?
[12:04:09PM] tardis80: he comes home with a basket of dumplings because ryan loves those
[12:04:34PM] hyunbin: his mom is sitting at the table, sort of shellshocked
[12:04:39PM] tardis80: and the house is slightly disarranged as if someone stopped in the middle of cleaning
[12:05:02PM] tardis80: brendon sees the basket where he hid the scarf, open.
[12:05:07PM] tardis80: the scarf is gone.
[12:05:27PM] tardis80: maybe he runs around the house a bit, shouting for ryan
[12:05:34PM] hyunbin: he drops the basket of dumplings and runs out
[12:05:42PM] hyunbin: he runs to the forest, to their lake
[12:06:15PM] tardis80: DDD:
[12:12:15PM] hyunbin: so brendon runs to the lake and yells himself hoarse
[12:12:26PM] tardis80: oh noes
[12:12:34PM] hyunbin: and he's tired and exhausted and falls asleep by a tree
[12:12:50PM] tardis80: but ryan isn't there when he awakes
[12:16:39PM] hyunbin: oh dude
[12:16:49PM] hyunbin: ryan should visiti him in his dreams when he falls asleep
[12:16:56PM] tardis80: ooooooooooooh <3333
[12:17:03PM] tardis80: oh man what does he say?
[12:17:12PM] hyunbin: and ryan's pale and apologizing for not saying goodbye
[12:17:45PM] hyunbin: but he takes brendon's face and kisses him desperately, crying a little. and brendon's crying when he wakes up, but ryan's not there

[12:20:05PM] tardis80: in the story i think the deer tells the woodcutter that sometimes a golden bucket comes down from heaven to gather water from the pool and th woodcutter gets inside teh bucket and is pulled up to heaven
[12:26:47PM] hyunbin: well clearly, spencer should tell brendon this :D?
[12:26:54PM] hyunbin: or maybe spencer sends down jon!

[12:27:05PM] hyunbin: because spencer is under watch because he's ryan's bff and all

[12:27:51PM] tardis80: and brendon is all hopeful and determined. he can't focus on anything now that ryan is gone. everything reminds him of ryan
[12:28:29PM] hyunbin: one day, brendon opens his door to a scruffy dude with a scarf just like spencer's (horizontal lines!)

[12:41:12PM] tardis80: jon squeezes brendon's hand. hey, he says. his eyes are sympathetic and his smile warm. hey it's gonna be okay. spencer told me to tell you that everything's gonna be okay.
[12:41:25PM] tardis80: and he outlines the situation to brendon.
[12:41:50PM] hyunbin: i think ryan is supposed to be married on a solstice!
[12:42:00PM] hyunbin: and the next one is the summer perhaps?
[12:42:07PM] hyunbin: the two of them are together for almost a year
[12:42:43PM] tardis80: that sometimes the king gets a thirst for the water of an earthly spring and a golden bucket comes down to earth. the only problem is that it's hard to predict when exactly it comes down
[12:44:04PM] tardis80: and so brendon takes to living next to the pool so he can be ready when the bucket comes
[12:44:33PM] tardis80: oh and jon tells ryan about the upcoming nuptials and brendon is very D:
