Harvard or Stanford? Convince me.
On another note, there's been so much about global warming in the media. I think it's really important, but ultimately we're all going to react too late because the main bulk of America, though conscious of the problem and situation, is like a giant blob. It needs to be steered. And the only two things that steer the big blob of American consciousness are mass media and the pulpit. The day that Britney Spears sings about the melting permafrost and Bush's pastor laces brimstone with methane gas will be the day that we postpone Armageddon.
Alternatively, we could have a premature melted iceberg drown a cat named Louie off the coast of South Carolina. Everyone will rally and demand that Bush be impeached. Impeach Bush! And because people care about Louie the cat far more than they care about humans, the world will be saved.
A third alternative would be for scientists to prove that global warming will cause us to become even more fat, and our skin to grow pimples. It's actually really easy, they just need a good publicist.
So Harvard? Stanford? I hate decisions.
P.S. I love that LJ offers 'chipper' as a mood. I love that word. Chipper.
P.P.S. I was planning to write a post about
this, but I need to be convinced between Harvard and Stanford, so just chew over Judas's innocence quietly and respond to my grevious dilemma...
EDIT: I should say -- ignore finances, because actually, Harvard gave me a really good package too... Better than Stanford actually.
