Oh, shit.
Penny lay very still her body still curled around Tunny's with his arm thrown around her waist, afraid of moving and waking him up. It had taken her a minute after waking up to figure out where she was and what she was doing there, and immediately her mind had gone into a state of almost panic. After a few minutes of thinking it through, she knew she did not want to be here when he woke up, despite how crappy the thought of leaving made her feel to leave. She needed a little bit of time to herself, to wrap her mind around everything before talking and inevitable awkwardness that would ensue.
Slowly, she untangled herself from him, freezing whenever she thought he stirred, then quickly and quietly went about the task of collecting her clothes. Once she was dressed, she glanced over to where he was still sleeping, her arms crossed against her chest. She couldn't just go without leaving a note, at least, because she knew from experience how shitty that felt. Plus, she didn't want to avoid him, exactly, just buy herself a little time. Finding a scrap of paper in her pocket, she scribbled him a note saying she'd gone to shower and would be back, before leaving the room.
A long shower and a cup of coffee later, she was heading back to his room and feeling better, even though she hadn't really made headway on figuring out what to do. She didn't regret what'd happened and, if she were honest, she wouldn't be against it happening again. Her main concern, however, was making sure that they stayed friends. Making friends wasn't the easiest thing in the world for her, and she really did care about Tunny. As long as that was fine, she decided, everything else would be too.
When she made it to his door, she took a deep breath and knocked quietly, so as not to wake him if he was still asleep. "Tunny?" she asked softly. "Are you awake?"
