MERDEKA
HAPPY MERDEKA EVERYONE!
Last night was one of the most memorable moments in my life. For the first time I went out for a Merdeka-eve celebration! Usually I'll just stay home, either watching some Merdeka-eve special on the tele or surf the net. But with Jason and Nick's semangatness to go out we ended up at the Curve. :-D
So Janice, Lily, Jason, Winnie, Nick and I went to the Curve to watch the fireworks. Winnie and Nick were at the Curve first because they went there straight after class. The rest of us only arrived there around 9.15pm thanks to the traffic jam and some road blocks. When we met up with Winnie and Nick we accompanied them for dinner at Keluang Station @ Ikano. We amused ourselves (and some of the other customers) taking photos with each other at the table. After dinner, we headed down to Padini Concept Store to raid the bargain bins. Nick, Winnie and I bought a top each which we are planning to wear on Monday together. Hehe...
After that short shopping spree we headed down to the open area in between IKEA and the Curve. It was very crowded there and there were this bunch of kids with party sprays rampaging around the area, spraying each other with multi-colored foam. Some innocent bystanders got sprayed as well. I guess I was lucky to get away from the full blast but I think some of the foam thingy got into Nick's mouth. Whooops.
When it was finally the countdown, the atmosphere was just terrific. The fireworks show right after that was FANTASTIC. Watching it live is so much better than watching it on TV.
Right after the fireworks finished Jason, Lily, Janice and I headed back home. The traffic jam out of the area was really bad but eventually we made our way out and as soon as we hit the highway the journey was smooth. :)
By the time I reached home was about 2 am. Though tired I was high with happiness. I hope to do this again for the years to come.
