Today is very special day for me. For the past few weeks I've been letting go of many things and trying to search for my path in life that I didn't look back at my past and appreciate it more than I should. A few things happened to me today that made me realize that what I've done so far are not useless. In fact I have to remind myself that it has shaped me to become who I am today and aloowed me to acquire things that I would not have without those series of events.
This morning as my mum and I walked back to the car in University Hospital I received an SMS stating that I had a miss call. The call was from Ms. Adeline; one of my lecturers at college. According to the voice message that she left, it was urgent so I quickly called her back wondering what has happened (Did I do something wrong? Was it because I commented the Tom Yam that her class served during an event was OK only?). (O_O)
When I called her and heard what she had to say I couldn't believe my ears. She told me that I was shortlisted to be the valedictorian for the graduation ceremony this September. It didn't really hit me when she said that I would have to present a speech representing TCPJ infront of the other graduates. I also had to meet the Associate Director of the college for a briefing for the selection at 2pm today. I still couldn't really believe what I heard.
Later at 2pm I went to meet the director. She told me that there are 3 other candidates from the Hotel School and 1 from the Business School.I'll be representing the School of Communication. I'll have to draft a speech of about 7-8 minutes long by next week and present it in front of a few people before the final selection is made. She told me that if I'm chosen, I will have to present the speech in front of 1400-1500 people at the ceremony, held at the KL Convention Centre.
Oh gosh, I hope I can make it. It is a really BIG honour to be the valedictorian but I'm quite honoured already that I was chosen to represent the school (and I only just finished my diploma!) Whether I'm chosen or not, this is really great news to me. :)
Other things that made my day even better (like chocolate sprinkles on a chocolate cake) were my purchase of Le Gardenie (Book 2) and Beny offering to pass my some Clazziquai albums. :-D
I'm feeling so happy right now that I'm flying. Hehe...
Before I end this entry I would like to give special thanks to my uncle who made it possible for me study in Taylors; my 'family': Janice, Lily, JW, Ruz and Ping for their undying support; my lecturers who had so much faith in me even though I feel that I'm not doing enough and last but not least my mum who has been flexible with me. Oh and of course not forgetting my friends who have supported me all these while; giving me advice, making time to come for my events and being patient with me. I love all of you! *hugs*
Thank you for taking your time to read this post and sharing my happiness with me. I really appreciate it.
Till next time, have a good weekend and ciao!
