Of course. [ it's not as if he dislikes her or anything, after all. on the contrary, he thinks he's becoming. fond of her. gdi c.c. you're rubbing off on him-- ]
Nothing too interesting has happened. [ a pause. ] Schneizel is sleeping, though. He's been sleeping for a long while, now. Strange, that. [ shaking his head. ] How are you feeling?
There's an answer I don't get often. [she blinks at this, before a quiet snort in the dark]
I'm sure Lelouch is pleased. [she dangles over the edge of the bed, legs hanging off the edge, casually peering into the blackness]
Rested, I'd imagine. But even with all that traveling, it won't amount to anything. I'll wake up in the same spot of a place I've probably traveled a hundred years ago. And yourself?
I haven't told Lelouch yet. Honestly, I'd like to keep going without Lelouch knowing that Schneizel is asleep. [ it's none of his business, hangs somewhere in there, but that too passes. ]
I see. Make sure you stretch a bit before you start walking around- you'll regret it later if you don't. [ he'd tell her to shower too, but. 8|a not going to.
because he's momentarily caught off guard by the last part, his smile only faltering for a moment before returning to normal. ] Ah, I'm... fine. Just fine. At least, better than I was. [ doesn't mention that he got jewelled all up and down and was down and out for a while. ]
[ an airy laugh at that. ] I didn't know if Schneizel would even want Lelouch to know, so- why bother telling him?
[ wa... tches... FINE, BE SMELLY AND ACHY FOR ALL HE CARES-- ] Mm, stretch the other leg and both arms, too, and then it'll count.
Well... [ uh. ] The flood washed Zero's mask away, so I had to go and find it. [ points to the corner of the room and, even though C.C. can't see it, Zero's mask is there now. ] Unfortunately, it was an area that was extremely hostile at the moment, so when I found it I was attacked.
[ aaand then he reaches over to one of the nightstands and plucks the tiny purple jewel off of it, showing it to her. ] They stuck this on me. I could hardly get out of bed. [ a beat. ] But, that's over now. It seems Somarium's military has moved in, though.
[ lets the tension in his shoulders that he didn't know was there aaall out at that. he has never been more thankful for C.C. being uncaring. ]
Too much? [ so silly. there's no such thing! ] It's better than being like Lelouch. I doubt he could even pick up a dumbbell, let alone bench a full set with a bar.
I... don't wear it. I do wear part of the suit from time to time, though. [ it's comfortable, hush 8( ] I have a duty and, while the Empress and Lelouch are fine with starting over, I am not.
[ ... bugged? that makes him pause a bit before sort of looking at it and resisting the urge to just crush it between his fingers. ] Perhaps. If it could drain me of all my energy and make my nightmares worse, I wouldn't be surprised.
It is. But, I'd rather them be here now, rather than never. They did help rebuild during the flood.
[ a slight smile at that. ] He can pick up Nunnally. [ and then a pause before he looks to the side to try and mask his amusement. ] But, I guess that isn't really saying anything from someone like me.
[ f r o w n. ] Not masochistic- I just know better than to break the Geass I had accepted.
Hopefully they are. [ a pause. ] I would have been worried if they were going around and restraining just anyone with purple eyes.
[ blinking. ] You're still calling me that? I'm not the 'Sword' anymore.
'Geass is like a wish.' [ reciting those words while smiling, even if it's just half a quirk at the corner of his lips. ] Right? Naturally I would call it that.
If you must know, the locals put it on me. They caught me during a weak moment- it was after I got the mask back. One of those... things attacked me first. [ hhhm. ]
Is Zero not a sword of justice? Perhaps I'm being nostalgic. [she listens to his words, her lips twitching ever so slightly. Yes the happiness you spoke of.. ]
That explains it. [a very wry smile] Perhaps you didn't work out enough.
and, he's really smiling when it ends. it's a- reasonably nice break from Euphy and Schneizel being asleep. ]
I'm afraid so. It's good to know that you're awake now.

Is it really? I hear it's been a month.

You work out too much.
Are you still wearing it? You don't really need it here unless you plan to start a rebellion of your own.
[she leans in curiously, blinking]
I see. That little thing must be bugged.
[scoff]
Isn't that a little overdue by now?

You really are masochistic. It's yours now, do what you want with it.
[she shrugs]
Who knows? We'll have to see if they're competent or not.

I wonder. I wonder more how you got one on you in the first place.

I don't think that's the case, but you'll believe what you want to. [ pause. ] If that is the case... more hard work wouldn't kill me.
[ points if she finds the irony in that. ]
