I feel like a total ass. But I cant find myself feeling sorry for these people who are still in New Orleans. They were told to evacuate. Told to leave. Now i do blame the Mayor for not following the evacuation procedures that they were suppose to. But why didnt these people leave. Why did they stick around for disaster to happen? And now they are crying about needing help. And now Fema is giving our money to them. 2 thousand doller debit cards for each family in the rescue shelters. I dont think these people should get it. I think the people who actually left when they were suppose to should be getting these cards, and I dont care if they have insurance or not. Insurance claims take forever to go through! What are these people living off of? How are they affording Hotel rooms, transportation,etc? But will they get help? NO of course not.
The people who are getting help are the dumb asses who just wouldnt leave with the first MANDATORY evacuation. Now the Mayor again is saying its Mandatory to leave. What the heck. Now I understand staying if you have a months supply of food and water, and are not in the badly flooded areas. But these people should have been out of there before. Why use our tax money to get soldiers and police in there to push people out who rather be stupid and die in the filth than to use common sence and leave? Why should they be getting help if they dont want it? (Of course though they would take a money hand out) And what is with the looting. You have no bleeding electricity! Why steal a damn tv! If you were a damn smart robber, you would have stolen one of the cars that were abandoned before the flood. Used it to get the hell out of there. And with all the distruction, the owner may have never even noticed it gone. You could have had a free car. Or just bloody steal some food and water,etc. If your going to be a robber, at least be a smart one. Not that I think any of that should be going on.
Another thing that makes me angry. They are talking of rebuilding. Why? I know its New Orleans. But they did this to themselves. The levees were only stable for a class 3. They knew class 5s were very possible. They drained acers and acers of swamps that use to buffer the big storms from hitting New Orleans. The place is totally under sea level. But they want to rebuild a place that should disappear like Atlantis! Move on! If you restore any of it, let it be historical districts, if there is anything left. Let it be a torist trap. But dont let all those people go back there and establish themselves! It will just happen again. It is prime to. And they knew all the risks before,just kept their heads in the sand. It just angers me, the whole thing is a waste of money. ARGH!!!!
I try to feel sorry. Some of these people who couldnt get out, I do feel sorry for. But a lot of them are just plain dumb, and I cant feel sorry for just plain dumb.

I have 4 days. Dont know why i havent poped yet. Hope perhaps this weekend, since harley will be here.
