amor vincit omnia!

i am reposting this, since i don't think it appeared in anyone's journals, the last time i tried to post it -- and even if it did, it certainly bears repeating:

(re: fulguritus's public service announcement):

jealousy, envy, anger, sadness, fear & low self-esteem got you down?

compersion to the rescue!

or, perhaps you would prefer the term, "frubbly... ( Read more... )

You just want me to have to think....(: buddhalotus October 12 2004, 04:55:26 UTC
Can't think of anything now....man I'm really going to have to think about that for awhile......to be continued.

So....I don't necasarily think that compersion has to be inevitable....which is what the link you posted to says last. I have felt this way for others many times, except for when I feel it is being forced on me. And because I may be having moments of jealousy I can't explain....but having a caring primary is very important. The link you posted to says being with your partner through jealousy is important.
Bongo bit Dave last night for petting Jax and everyone keeps saying it's because Bongo is insecure. (shrugs)

bongo is definitely insecure... it's that napoleon complex he has... trying to compensate for being a miniature collie!

actually, the quote you referred to is (my italicized emphasis):

"...We know we live in a harshly moralistic society which serves to deny creativity, love and pleasure at every turn. The very fact of being willing and daring to explore another person's sexual responses, ideas, desires, feelings and realities is a challenge to this morality and control. To do so outside the bounds of a one-on-one relationship is even more daring, but, it seems, for many people, to be an inevitability."

and for what it's worth, i do care for you deeply... as much as i am able.

i'm sorry to hear that you feel like anyone tried to force anything on you, ever... you know how i feel about that, though: relationships should be safe, sane, and consensual -- based on honesty, openness, and responsibility. given those conditions, you must be accountable for your choice of whether or not to participate in any relationship. yes, it is ( ... )

as i said to fulguritus...

it's funny how some people think "compersion" is too technical/formal/cludgy/artificial/ugly/without etymological roots

and other people think "frubbly" is too flippant/frivolous/fluffy

I just gotta say that I like compersion as a word because when I think it in my head I hear a cat's purr in the middle and I think that's a good feeling to go along with the word... *image in head of me purring and rubbing my head against a loved one while feeling compurrrrsion* LOL..

ok, that settles it.
imho, there's no more debate on this issue.
your image has given voice (onomatopoeia, to be precise) to the coup de grace!
