like a battering ram through the doors of perception...

This Thursday evening, March 22 @ 7pm, please join us for:
The Holy Mountain @ The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown
(please let me know if you are coming, 'cause I'll be there around 6pm to reserve seats!)

Jodorowsky talks about the re-releases of Fando y Lis, El Topo, & the Holy Mountain:

For over thirty years, El Topo & The Holy Mountain have only been available in heavily censored & low-res quality bootleg versions, due to contractual disputes between the producer Allen Klein & Jodorowsky. This situation finally began to find resolution a few years ago... as i reported in the comments of a previous post, Allen Klein & Jodorowsky had begun to settle their differences. So, ABKCO Films will finally release DVDs of all three of these films together on May 1st, 2007 (although Fando y Lis was recently available through Fantomas)!

This screening of The Holy Mountain @ The Alamo is from a 35mm print that Jodorowsky 2K scanned digitally & restored to 35mm & HD... while the El Topo print is from an optical restoration done in 1996.
