Bloody Christmas! Its not even 2 weeks away and already we have hundreds of decorations in every town centre. This year its really winding me up for some unknown reason. Perhaps I am just getting old!
It was our wedding anniversary this week, the hubby and I managed to get a night to ourselves thanks to my wonderful sister who looked after the little man. We booked a room at the new
Hilton Hotel. We were on the 16th floor with wonderful views of the city, it was truoly spectacular. The hotel treated us to complementary wine, chocolates and an amazing array of dipped fruits. We visited the new
Cloud 23 bar up on the 23rd floor which had amazing views away from the city. It also has a fairly impressive cocktail list, but be warned most start at £7.50. As it only opens from 5pm, the queues build up very quickly, they have a strict limit on numbers, so if there is a private function, you gotta wait. Although, we were taken to the front of the queue because we were residents and we were whipped up in a uberfast lift (earpoppingly so) which opens up into this bar. It is just like the one in Lost in Translation, which I believe was the inspiration, but its so worth the cost for the view. I dont think I have ever seem Manchester is such a way before.
We also went for dinner in
Evuna which is a spanish place on Deansgate. There arent a million and one veggie options on the menu, but the owner told me everything was made fresh and so if you have a vegie request, they can make something up to order. Which is great new, they need to advertise this more as the menu is very meat/fish heavy. But the wine is to DIE for, fantastic. And whatever you drink, you can buy! Fab!
Other things have been going on, I have been taking the little man swimming which he adores, its dead funny watching the concentration on his little face. We get to take them underwater, its interesting to watch the babies hold their breath. We have been getting the house in order, our shutters are being fitted in the living room next week, my kitchen cupboards are also being replaced due to a manufacturing fault causing fracture lines to appear in the doors themselves.
I have also, probably foolishly, been doing some work. Im not due back until early jan, but I am trying to get back in the saddle slightly now, so that the transition back into work is less bumpy. I have to attend interviews for a post in early dec and I was recently on a 3 day management traning course. And I have a horrid cold.
If I think of anything else, Ill let you know!
