Weather or not

Whenever the weather changes, I tend to feel it - allergies, a headache, my ears feeling like they're full of cotton. The last few weeks of up-and-down temperatures haven't done much for me. At the moment I'm in 'stick head in sink full of ice, pretend this is somehow going to give you magical powers' level pain. That's John's way of treating a migraine when drugs fail. The sink in the office kitchen isn't something I want to get that near to though: not so clean.

I debated leaving early, but these new shoes I'm wearing (bought last-minute at Target before an event a couple of weeks ago, and of expected quality) have given me astonishing blisters. Band-Aids are having no effect. So I'm forced to decide between hobbling to the metro, and then home, or waiting for 5:30, when Eric will be able to give me a ride home, allowing me to limp to his car before kicking my shoes off and walk barefoot upstairs to my apartment once he's dropped me off. Right now waiting is winning - I can after all just close my eyes here for a while. I don't think anyone would notice.

Despite the headache, I'm in a decent mood. Stuff's still going bonkers at work, but I have spent most of today working in my own little world. The most annoying salesperson is out for a week, so I don't have to hear his whining about things. I have a feeling that helps. I also got quite a bit of sleep this weekend, which is extremely helpful. I'm still covering the phones, but the tech calls I've had to answer have been easy "how do i find this search field?" instead of "this is broken!!!" So that's a nice change :)

At least at home, there's some homemade cookie dough in the fridge. Chances are about even on whether I'll bother to bake it.
