Today I took a day off. I didn't have to get up at "0"dark thirty to exercise and rush off to work. It was great to sleep in until 7:30. We woke up to snow this morning. Not the deluge that eastern Canada and the States got but snow none the less. When I first saw it I got this little flutter in my chest...the first twinkle of Christmas Spirit. *sigh* I love Christmas.
I was actually organized today. After exercising I booked an eye appointment because it's been six months from my last chemo treatment and I can actually get my eyes checked. I booked an appointment with my dentist...I had to cancel one that was scheduled during treatment because my counts were low and I confirmed when my mammogram appointment is at the Cross Cancer Institute.
In the afternoon Hubby and I then went into the city with one of our dining room chairs. We took it in to the same company that recovered our living room furniture a couple of years ago. The dining room furniture is 18 years old, so the chairs need new upholstery. The original stuff is a loose weave and kind of scratchy, but the new fabric I chose is soft and a tight weave which should be more resistant to cat claws. It's nearly the same colour as the original stuff but that's okay, I like something neutral in case I want to change colours in the dining room. We will deliver the remainder of the chairs when the fabric comes in and they should be ready 3 or 4 days later. In time for the holiday season. YAY! After that we went to Michaels to choose mats and a frame for the cross stitch one of my co-workers gave to me. The plan is to get it framed and then to sell raffle tickets to raise money towards my Weekend to End Breast Cancer Walk target. Michaels is having a 50% off framing sales this week so that will help my profit margin. I think it will look beautiful when it's done and it should be ready in about 3 weeks, in time for Christmas selling.
Then Hubby and I went to an afternoon matinee of the movie The Guardian. I usually like Kevin Costner movies and this one didn't disappoint. In fact it's one of his better movies of late. After the movie Hubby and I have been relaxing. A practically perfect day. :o)
