Today was a good day. Hubby and I accomplished quite a bit and it feels great. This past week I've been painting a cabinet that lives in our downstairs bathroom. It was just a plain light brown in colour and didn't really go with the white and blue that are the colours in that bathroom. So I began by painting it the same blue as the walls, then a yellowish colour, then a mid tone green and finally an off white called Devonshire Cream. Then I took my mouse sander and removed some of the paint to distress the piece and hopefully make it look older. I swapped out the knobs and Hubby helped me put the doors back on. This is the end result.

I'm pleased with my first effort at this type of project.
Hubby then built me storage shelves for my sewing room. Right now there are baskets of laundry on the shelves but they won't be there long. I will be sorting out my sewing room in the next day or two. Here is a picture of the storage shelves.
We took our cats to vet this afternoon for their annual check-up and shots. They are all fine, considering they are all old cats. Polly, who is nearly 18 years old is a little on the thin side, but has been for a few years. Tiger is doing great and Sparkle is a little over weight but otherwise healthy.
I tried out the relatively new Philadelphia Cooking Cream - Herb and Garlic for supper. I cooked a basic chicken stir fry, added bow tie pasta and then then cooking cream. It was pretty tasty and Hubby seemed to really enjoy it. He will be taking the left-overs back up north with him tomorrow. I'm going to check out recipes on the
Philly Canada site.
After supper I took the above posted pictures and when I went to call Maggie indoors she had to sit and pose for a picture.
She was at the vet on Wednesday for her annual check-up and weighed in at a hefty 71.9 lbs. More walking, fewer treats are the order of the day - for both of us I'm afraid. The vet said that she is healthy and doesn't seem to be struggling because of her weight. Unfortunately Golden's can run on the plump side if not watched and it would be better for her joints if she lost a few pounds. The same goes for me, less weight would be better for my joints. We have our work cut out for us.
