Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~ Albert Camus

The above quote was featured in a "Mutts" cartoon strip by Patrick McDonnell that I received in my email inbox today. I think it is wonderful. It isn't officially fall for a few more days and we've been enjoying warmer than average temperatures but it looks very fall-like in my part of the world. The leaves are turning, and falling to the ground. The sound of them rustling in the trees is different than when everything was green. We don't get a lot of oranges and reds in the fall but there is some and there are still several wild flowers blooming so it very pretty when I go for walks with Maggie. It's as if nature is putting on one last glorious display before going to sleep for the winter.

We've had our killing frost. Thankfully I covered our tomatoes so they are still okay. I'm not sure what to do about the pumpkins. They are only about half ripe but the plant is pretty much dead. We are supposed to have another week of warm days so perhaps I'll leave them and see what happens. Hubby and I will be clearing out the garden and putting it to bed for the winter the last weekend in September.

I'm off to take Maggie for a walk and enjoy the beauty that surrounds me. Have a great day.
