new wheels

On Saturday we traded in our Jeep Compass for a Jeep Wrangler. The Compass (an automatic) served me well after my knee surgery, but I much prefer driving a standard. Hubby taught me how to drive a standard more than 30 years ago and all of our vehicles except for the one he owned when we got married and the Compass have had manual transmissions. I picked up my new Jeep today. Here are a couple of pictures behind the cut.

This is with the two front panels from the "Freedom Hardtop" off. It was a blast driving home.
However, my hair kinda looked like Einstien's
by the time I got home.
The back portion comes off too, making it a convertible, an off-road convertible. The doors can be taken off too for the ultimate open air off-road experience but I doubt that I will ever take the doors off.
This is a with the "Freedom Hardtop" back together.

This is a profile shot:

I've named it "Dozer" which happens to be the name of its colour. I originally thought I'd like the Black Forest Green but since the Jeep I selected is the Sahara Unlimited edition I thought that the Dozer colour was more appropriate. Right now it's sitting outside. It had Pro-Tech Seal done on it to protect the paint, interior and undercarriage and there is considerable "off-gassing" as a result. It was in the garage for a couple of hours this afternoon and the smell was terrible.

I'm heading off to bed soon. I was pretty restless last night. (probably excited - like a kid at Christmas)
