I had my follow-up appointment with the surgeon today. He seemed pleased with my progress; pushing and tugging on my knee to check stability. I have been given permission to walk up and down the stairs like an adult, rather than one step, one step, one step. Going up the stairs is a bit easier than going down and I'll probably need a couple of weeks to build up my stamina but that is to be expected. I was also given permission to walk Maggie - hence the title of this post. I'll be wearing my leg brace initially to help keep my knee stable as Maggie can be somewhat unpredictable at times.
We went for a walk this afternoon. It was actually more like a slow mosey than a walk. I have to concentrate on walking as normally as possible so my pace is shorter and slower than it used to be. Maggie seemed to enjoy herself and was quite well behaved considering we haven't walked together in 7 weeks.
Not too much else is new or exciting. All of the snow is gone from our property and things are slowly starting to turn green. It's time to start raking the grass and putting out more grass seed. My allergies have been crazy the last couple of weeks; probably due to snow mold. Raking should take of the it.
I've was pretty guiet through the month of April, hopefully May will be better.
