Winter has definitely arrived

It's been a while since I've posted other than my thankful list.
Most of Alberta is under a winter storm warning and the blizzard like conditions are supposed to last overnight finally easing off Saturday morning.

Not ideal conditions for the crew that started work on our new septic system yesterday. They are still at it even though the wind is blowing at a sustained 26 km per hour or 16 miles per hour and gust of 40 km per hour or 27 miles per hour. It's snowing like crazy with possible accumulations of 20 cm or nearly 8 inches with some areas receiving even more. The truck that delivered a load of wood chips got stuck because of the snow and the soft ground where the backhoe cleared the ground for access to the new tanks. Fortunately the team got the truck unstuck and work continues. There are a couple of pluses to all this snow we are getting. It was a very dry year so the farmers are happy for the moisture and it is covering up the somewhat scarred yard. I knew we would lose a few trees and that the yard would be dug up but it isn't pretty to look at. Right now it is mostly covered by the snow.

This morning kailiia's (our daughter) boyfriend chathzzar was broadsided on his way to work. Thankfully he wasn't hurt and our daughter had been told to work from home. I doubt she would have been driving in this weather and had she been in the car she could have been badly hurt as the pick-up truck that hit him hit the passenger door almost dead center. Thank you God for looking after chathzzar and kailiia this morning. Fortunately they have the car we sold to our daughter for a buck to use until his is repaired or replaced. Hubby picked up our daughter and drove her to the police station and then brought both of them home.

During all of this mornings excitement I was at my grandson's school being a roster parent (grandparent). I glued pictures into the students' scrapbooks and then played/supervised at a play center. It was a lot of fun to watch the children and I think that my grandson was happy to have me there.

I finished making all the Christmas cards that need to be mailed out. (yippee) Hopefully we will be able to get them addressed while Hubby is home for the next couple of days. We also want to put up the Christmas tree and other decorations around the house. Well, I must go and start the pot roast we are going to have for supper.
