I've included a few photos of my new apartment. I'm going to get the keys on the 16th, and I'm also going to take empty photos of each room then. These were just some pictures that were included in the ad for the place.
This is the front of the building. I'm on the second floor.
Dining room, looking into the kitchen. I love the walls; the color and the molding. I love how there is the nice neutral color then the white.
The kitchen. Can I just say I freaking love it? First of all, gas heat. I for some reason can't seem to cook with electric anymore. Plus - thank you, God - a dishwasher. I hate washing dishes more than anything else. In my version of hell, I would be washing dishes for all eternity.
The kitchen also has a freaking huge walk-in pantry. The other place I looked at has a walk in pantry, but not nearly as big and the refrigerator is inside it - so that kind of takes away from the excitement of having a walk in to begin with.
Oh, and granite countertops. And an island, with - you guessed it - a granite top. It seems that the previous owner of this building lived in this apartment, so he upgraded it in ways that the first floor isn't.
Living room. There is a bay window! As you can see in the photo of the building, it spans the whole length of the living room. There's a working gas fireplace, too. Yay!
Now I just have to look up ways to save money on things like gas, electricity, etc. I know basic things like using compact lightbulbs, turning off things when they're not using them, or unplugging those things... I'm going to get a water heater jacket, I think, because then I can lower the temp of the water heater about 30 degrees and it'll stay warm... if anyone has more ideas, I like being frugal and green. :)
