Yeah, another stupid week. Honestly, I am fucking fed up at this point, with myself and with about 99.99999% of the world. Just fucking sign me out already.

... that Cas will be in more than 40% of the goddamn episodes )

spn:yay!

I couldn't help but think that not calling Cas was just a poor use of resources on the Winchesters' part. Yeah, sure, it might have made the episode about 20 minutes long, but I feel like an angel probably would have been able to address the aliens question in the form of a yes/no answer. Done.

It was very sneaky, though, how they slipped MC's name into the credits. I saw that, and then there was one shot where the camera was kind of angled over Dean's shoulder, which they always seem to do when Cas is about to appear behind him (heh), that I actually yelled out loud, "CAAAAAS?" But, nothing... Until next week, at least, and I have to admit that I'm a little apprehensive of how they're going to make me watch any Meg/Cas bullcrap without wanting to vomit.

I'm kind of on the fence as to whether the lack of Cas appearances is a bad thing, though, beyond generally wanting to see more of Misha. architeuthis made a pretty good point a couple weeks back, that in some ways his appearances are appreciated more when he arrives to serve a purpose, rather than seeming shoehorned into the episode. I definitely think the writers could have taken more care to interweave his storyline through the season arc in a more present, interactive way than they are currently doing, but the way the episodes have been going, his presence could easily have come across as gratuitous since they're trying so hard to make us believe that he's all busy and important.

Then again, they didn't use Skinner in this episode, either, which is kind of ridiculous considering HE WAS ON THE FREAKING X-FILES. I don't buy that it would have been too obvious; SPN doesn't shy away from obvious references. I mean, they were playing David Bowie while Dean was researching UFOs, a little well-timed Skinner action would have made a lot of people who watched X-Files when it was on TV smile.

Oh man, Skinner! Having Mitch Pileggi show up would have been perfection. Then again, I was almost dying with laughter when "Ashes to Ashes" started playing.

I couldn't agree more. I hate when Cas is plopped into episodes (I think Song Remains the Same is the worst example of that) because like I always say he's an angel not a pudding cup, he shouldn't plop.

Although that's not to say that he wouldn't make an absolutely charming pudding cup.

'Pudding Cup of the Lord' sort of has a ring to it, dontcha think? I like my men like I like my pudding, dark and... with a spoon in them.
