Sunday:
Fear The Walking Dead - AMC - Look, I'm here because Alycia Debnam-Carey aka Heda Lexa from The 100 is moonlighting as a dumb socal teen. Because Robin is able to watch it before me, I get warned for the shit I can't handle. Still no interest in The Walking Dead, but this has been an entertaining diversion.
Monday:
Gotham - Fox - I wasn't going to watch this season because I was super invested in Fish and apparently she was only meant for one season but Robin was all, this was a great episode! And there was literally nothing else on that I wanted to watch so I watched it and...it wasn't bad. They finally found Barbara a personality. Bruce and Alfred are interesting enough. Penguin is still wholly unlikable and yet oddly entertaining. I don't know, I'll keep watching for now. The tone is evening out too.
Minority Report - Fox - Other than the Tom Cruise thing I did enjoy the movie, but so far I'm liking the tv show even better. Meagan Good as Detective Lara Vega makes me very happy. The white guy playing the twin precog that wants to save people is okay. There appears to be a larger story arc going on, not just a case of the week thing. At one point Vega, Akeela and Lt. Blake were all in a room together: two women, one man, no white people. It felt so good.
Blindspot - NBC - It wasn't as horrible as I feared, but it wasn't great. Sooo much male gaze, soooo fucking heteronormative. I would talk about the two team members who aren't white but IMDB and the show seem to disagree on what their names are. Chiseled jaw white dude team leader was adequate. Jamie Alexander is always fun to watch, but damn this show does not do her any favors. Plus and also, this episode was brought to us by the letter Racist Asian Stereotypes. So. I don't know, I'll give it another go.
Tuesday:
Face Off - SyFy - Remains the only competition reality show that doesn't play up bullshit interpersonal drama to get ratings and thus is the only one worth watching. I'm always so awed by what these people are able to come up with.
Wednesday:
Rosewood - Fox - I flipped over to Fox early just to have it on the channel for when Empire came on and got instantly drawn into this show. The characters are ridiculously charming and interesting. The show is about Dr. Rosewood aka Rosie, private pathologist, who lives in Miami and works with his sister and "toxicology queen," Pippy and her fiancee DNA specialist Tara Milly Izikoff aka TMI. Rosie partners up with a newly returned to Miami Detective Annalise Villa to solve crimes. There are were like three named white people in the first episode I think, and two of them were dead. The music, the sets, the colors, the dialog. All awesome. I'm so glad I accidentally watched it.
Empire - Fox - um...this shit's crazy, but I can't stop watching. It's super intense and not for everyone and sometimes I get the very distinct feeling that I'm just not catching all the nuance and I kind of like that.
Thursday:
How To Get Away With Murder - ABC - AHAHAHAOMFG I HAVE MISSED THIS SHOW! Annalise Keating is tremendous. There are no words. I'm torn between wishing I could marathon the whole season and knowing that if I tried I might stroke out from the intensity. :D
Project Runway - Lifetime - I watch the runway portion and that's it. I am so done with all this faux drama.
Friday: nothing this week
Saturday: I rewatched Rosewood and Minority Report over on Hulu. I really enjoy both shows so much.
And thus concludes week one.
