Helix

SyFy has a new show called Helix. It's set down in Antarctica in a private company's research base. They're working with diseases and viruses and stuff and something happens and they have to call in the CDC to come help contain the mess and save those not yet infected.

All that sounded pretty neat to me so I wanted to watch it.

Did you ever watch the syfy show that ... started with D... I forget. Dystopian future with aliens? I dl'd the first couple of eps but ended up deleting unwatched. I don't like dystopia things. Dunno if I missed out.

I did, yes. Defiance. It's actually post end of the world, and they're rebuilding so it doesn't have the bleakness that a lot of dystopian stuff does.

However, it was not all bright and fluffy. The main problem I had with it though was pacing. I know part of that was because of the amount of world building they were doing but it was still distracting.

I enjoyed overall, but I wouldn't unequivocally recommend it to people. It has rough edges and some of the story lines are depressing.

The aliens and the tech are really cool though.
