So you might be wondering what the heck this is going to be about from its subject. Well, its basically me venting about things going on in the area that I live, where my family lives and where the majority of my friends live.
I cannot understand why anyone who lives anywhere near the detroit area would buy a foreign car. Detroit, do not bite the hand that feeds you! Sure, this is easy for me to say. My dad has worked for Ford his entire life and so has Matt's dad. Matt's brother works there. My mom just got a great job working for a Chrysler supplier. Its easy for me to be pro-american because, it keeps food on the table. But hello, it keeps food on the table for all of us in the area.
I find it hard to believe if you or someone in your immediate family does not work for the american auto industry somehow... but if this is the case, do not assume that you are not effected.
Specifically, my dad's Ford plant has cut so many jobs that there are much less people working there. A family owned restuarant across the street that used to be full of ford employees on their lunch breaks is now closed. Why? Because most of their customers have lost their jobs.
I work at a daycare. So many parents have been laid off or lost their jobs. You know what this means for me? Less kids enrolled in daycare which means less hours for me..
So many college graduates can't even find a job at all.
I could go on and on but its obvious that there are a lot of people without jobs and in my opinion, at least in the detroit area, it is because of people buying foreign cars.
You may think that you are getting a better deal or something, but when your rice burner is sitting in your garage with no where to go because you lost your job maybe you'll think differently.
Like my dad's bumper sticker/magnet reads... LOST YOUR JOB YET? KEEP BUYING FOREIGN.
whatev, this is just a venting space for me right now. Im not worried about spelling or grammer, just getting out my opinion! :)
