Watching The Walking Dead, I'm interested, it's engaging, it deals with some pressing issues in some form or another - there ARE dynamics - but that's not the point. I'm rambling already.
My issue is with the network as a whole. Watching this on demand, seeing the endless amounts of advertising and specifically WHAT they advertise it all seems to be a bit...crude. I won't say in bad taste, but geared overwhelmingly towards violence, sex, and trauma. It seems beyond the point of "drama"; I don't want to misrepresent myself and denounce those aspects for entertainment purposes (I have, after all, dedicated the past 4 hours to a TV show about a zombie apocalypse), I just think to laud those plot-points as the only thing of interest in a program is a cheap way to get thrills.
If a show really IS that good, highlight the important things.
That wouldn't sell though, and admittedly I probably would not be watching this show.
That makes me a little sad, because if I'm going to be picky about something on an arbitrary internet journal that no one reads anyway, I should probably hold myself to the same scrutiny; and frankly, I think I'm failing in that department.
