Reaction Post - Journey's End

Well, how about that then. No more Whoniverse until December, and I'm rather sad about that.
However, the ep didn't fill me with as much squee as last weeks did; in fact part of me feels rather let down. Not going to poke myself too hard to find out why though.

.So what was good?

I've heard about this "Donna's dead" thing, though no details, and I AM NOT HAPPY. Donna is the first companion I could identify with fully -- a little frumpy, a lot uppity, no-nonsense and did what needed to be done even when she was terrified. I tell you, I AM NOT HAPPY.

I was very dubious about Donna before this series started as I wasn't that keen on her in Runaway Bride and then CT promptly blew all my preconceptions out of the window and turned her into my favourite companion ever (barring Ace and Captain Jack).

Maybe they can dig themselves out of the hole that they've put Donna in, but they can't use her again even if CT was available as she'll 'burn' if she remembers. All I can hope for as regards to the character is that she'll get a little more encouragement and support off her mother and that she'll listen to her granddad and realise that she can be so much more.

I'm going to miss you Donna Noble.

Well, if they didn't kill her outright that means the character is held in reserve until someone figures out a reason to bring them back... Never say die, that's the motto of the Who universe.

Hated, hated hated what they did to Donna. And to Rose. blargh and *headdesk* all around.

Love Tosh saving TW from the grave, I didn't pick up on that till you mentioned it. It was lovely.

And Jack was Jack. Very Jack. :)

I was underwhelmed this series about Rose returning anyway, so I wasn't exactly disappointed. I had brief hopes after the last 2 weeks that they might have let her grow up a little in ways that mattered to me, but no; that was too much to expect. I hope she's gone for good now. Rose? DO NOT WANT.

I loved Jack and Martha holding hands at the end... and then Mickey breaking into the middle. BFF!

I liked Rose okay in S1, got pretty fed up with her S3, grew tired of the St. Rose references in S3 and wanted to throw things when she had cameos in S4 and the ending here? She gets EVERYTHING and still isn't happy?

Goodbye Rose, don't let the door hit you on the way out!

The minute they made a second Doctor, I knew he'd be "gifted" to Rose. I really wanted Rose to die - Least favorite companion ever.

I really loved Martha and they sent her packing but at least she'd still in the who verse - So i forgave them and fell in love with Donna so that makes what they did to her even more unforgivable!!!!

On a good note - I love the idea of Martha and Mickey in Torchwood.

Oh yes, me hoping for Martha and Mickey in Torchwood too. Though I've been doing that ever since Tosh and Owen died and I found out that Mickey was going to be in the finale. I loved that he wanted to return because his gran had died, which had been his reason for staying (even though I had been secretly hoping he'd step into Ricky's shoes and start seeing Jake. Maybe he did... and maybe Jake dumped him.).

I know lots of people have been saying that Mickey can't replace Tosh, and while that's true from a Tech point of view I still think he'd personally make a great addition to the team, plus I don't think *anyone* would replace Tosh because of her instinctive understanding of tech, except maybe Luke Smith, and I can't see Sarah Jane allowing that! I could see Mickey and Ianto kind of splitting the tech stuff between them, but even if the do Torchwood 3 will really miss Toshiko Sato.

It's true Martha is certainly a one for one replacement of Owen but they are going to be Tech shy- unless they make Mickey tech savvy having been in a more advanced parallel universe. It's been two years he might have learned stuff.

LOL Mickey/Jake - i can see that

No more DW, but hey, Top Gear is back! *g*

Jack's indestructible clothes of doom and his Super Coat

I know! It wasn't even singed! Geez, we did know how to make clothes in WWII didn't we? *g* Maybe some of those nanites lingered around and keep repairing it for him? XD

As for Donna, keep a weather eye on my journal, as I'm writing a story to 'resurrect' her. As has been recently pointed out to me, anything is fixable in fanfic. :)
