I went a and saw Tron for the third time today. Christ do I want a lightjet. Failing that, a lightcycle. It doesn't even have to come out of a baton, I just want a motorcycle that looks like that.
Also, for those that recall, I have been spending a little of my free time in my friend's wood shop, building a bow. The other night we got to the tillering stage, where you string the bowstaff with a stiff cord and bend it into shape. You have to shorten the cord as you go, so that when you're done, it's strung the way it will be strung with the bowstring. This requires you to restring the bow a couple times. Well, as my friend was doing this, the bow cracked, so it's unusable now, and I have to start over. Yeah, it sucks, but we're pretty sure we could make another one in two or three days, so we're going to work to get together this week a finish it before I have to go back to school next Tuesday.
I really want to get this done, because a) it's really cool, and b) we realized as we were tillering that the bow I had would've been about 40 pounds, or enough to hunt deer with. I'm no hunter, but just having a bow that powerful and knowing you made it is pretty amazing.
So yeah. Fun times in the coming week.
