Macrovision can KISS MY ASS!
Three words:
I HATE MACROVISION.
If you do not know, Macrovision is that wonderful bit of encryption that keeps you from copying copyrighted stuff to DVD. It SUCKS. Legally, you are allowed to make backups of videos that you own as long as you don't distribute them to anyone else. BUT the lovely Sony converter we have does not copy it AT ALL. I have tried dubbing on the machine itself, from another VCR to the DVD recorder, AND from another VCR THROUGH the TV and up to the DVD recorder... all in vain. I AM SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW!!! I want to watch my Disney movies on DVD! Dad and I waited through the entire Beauty and the Beast movie (which granted, I love to watch, but it took until 2 am) just to find out that the DVD had actually recorded whatever was on channel 3 on cable. WHAT THE HELL???? So I have been online trying to figure this out... just to find out that basically the only way to do this is to connect the VCR to an expensive digital converter and then to my COMPUTER, copy the entire tape on my computer, THEN copy it off the hard drive to the DVD. I cannot afford to buy second copies of all these movies and I WANT MY DVD'S!!!! I swear, I am about to throw something through the window! Maybe I should just go to bed... I can take the VHS to watch this week and maybe Jesse can figure this out when he comes back with me next weekend. I have been at this for five hours.
