UP UP AND AWAYYYYY!
i have applied to countless jobs in the past month. i've even called and harassed several places, but to no avail... until yesterday.
a lot of jobs only accept online applications and don't provide a number to follow up with. so usually when i apply to those ones it feels like sending them into a black hole and i forget about them. but one of those random places actually called! yesterday i had a phone interview that went well, and tomorrow i will set up a face-to-face interview for next week.
i'm pretty excited about this job, but at the same time i'm pretty nervous. it's 32-36 hours a week, which is way more than i ideally wanted while taking classes. but i figure i'll give it a shot. and depending on if the position pays well or has health/dental benefits, maybe i'll taper down my classload and slow things down a bit - i'm not in a huge rush, anyway. the only drawback might be giving up my summer job... but i'll deal with that if/when i get to that point.
the position itself would be a reuse technician at a dialysis center. basically i'd be cleaning out the filtering equipment from after people have had dialysis and making sure they're safe to re-use. plus, stocking and inventory of equipment. there's a two-week training period, so i'd be well-trained before getting thrown to the wolves.
can you tell i'm getting my hopes up? :-D
