No internet from Friday until tonight. We went to Hoodsport, WA with other Bluebirders for a mini rally. Great campground, we had a site overlooking the water. Saturday morning while the tide was out the CG owner plucked oysters from their bed for our barbecue. Saturday before the potluck we ate grilled oysters, yummy. They taste lightly smoked. My potluck entry was a green salad with romaine lettuce, sliced tomatoes, chopped red, green and yellow peppers, sliced green onions, dried cranberries and honey roasted almonds plus gorgonzola cheese crumbles served with either Annie's French Dressing or Brianna's Blush Wine Vinaigrette. First time I got complements on my choice of salad dressings.
The weather was rainy so we finked out of actually attending the Oysterfest in Shelton. We got together with the group and did more oysters on Sunday. I survived all the oysters but Dick has a touch of digestive upset which he blames the oysters for.
We checked into the campground where we are leaving the motorhome while we drive back to Madison for Dr. appointments. We did laundry and packed. Put the motorhome into storage this morning and hit the road. A very nice drive along US Highway 12 which crosses White Pass between Mt Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. We got to Spokane about 5:45. Got gasoline at $2.99 and ate dinner at Denny's. Using the free motel coupon books I picked up at the rest stop we selected a motel in downtown Spokane. Now we have fire trucks and ambulance noises outside our window. I hope we manage to get on road earlier tomorrow.
I have been trying to catch up on my LJ and emails. A long way to go as I still have 300 emails to scan.
