We put pressure on ourselves to make the living room and dining area presentable by inviting friends over for dinner and cards Saturday night. So last night we had our first official dinner party. I served Copper River wild salmon that I marinated in rice wine vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes and garlic before I broiled it, brown Jasmine Rice (Trader Joe brand), steamed asparagus, macerated strawberries over Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream.
I keep thinking of things to write about and then forget what I thought of when I sit down at the computer. I finally learned the name of the shopping center where Bed Bath and Beyond and the Good Egg is. it is called Crossroads Festival.
wayfinder38 had an early morning appointment there Friday. We had breakfast at the Good Egg and wandered around BB & B we got home around 12:30 and it was already over 90. We got to 95 that day which was a record breaking temperature. I went outside to check the thermometer at 5 and it was still 90. I came back indoors and said "it's a dry heat." (joke) It's what everyone says here about the heat.
wayfinder38 is having a grand time with his new workshop. He found a European Wood Carvers workbench that he has added. Sears had a sale on band saws so he picked one up plus a small shop vac. We have cleared out most of it but have to take the steel shelf out and clean it up and then move out to the workshop/shed the things that are not needed in the house. We have to make ready for the arrival of the contents of our storage locker from Madison.
This entry has been interrupted by 2 IM chats, one phone call and conversation with the other resident of this place. i am not able to multitask the way I used to.
