Turns out the delay in closing on our new place is due to the estate attorney's disorganization. First he claimed he couldn't find the title but our realtor sent him a power of attorney to sign so a duplicate title could be issued. he finally mailed it today. So it looks like we will close next week. I had hoped it would be this week so we could get busy clearing the place out.
Yesterday we stopped at the scratch and dent/clearnance place for Scandinavian furniture. We found a Queen size bed we liked. All there is in the bedroom is the frame and mattresses. We also did a walk through at Costco to see what they had that we might want. We did buy a new Cusinart food processor/blender now that we will have counter space. The plan is to use it to make smoothies with high fiber fruit. I am supposed to eat 30 grams of fiber a day. They have a nifty seat that will work in the garage it is shaped like a motorcycle saddle with adjustable height. It should work really well for
wayfinder38 when he is working on his wood carvings.
We went to Costco to return the swiss cheese we bought last week. it was already moldy even though the date on it was April 22. They gave me my money back. Then I checked to see if my new glasses were in. They were due next Friday. There were in and now life is much clearer. The anti reflective coating on my old glasses was becoming opaque.
I can't schedule any work or service until I know for sure when we will have access. I suppose we can go look at paint samples as we have to have the outside painted.
We got our mail for the last month yesterday. Most of it was anticipated except for the letter from the UW Medical Foundation which said they were not going to pay for my hospitalization. They said they had contacted Utilization Review 3 times on 12/22, 12/27 & 12/28 and had not hear from them. Who the hell is utilization review is it internal to Unity or at the hospital where I got treatment. They I was told I could contact customer service for the certificate. What certificate are they talking about. The letter was filled with jargon and communicated nothing except they wanted information and were not going to pay.
I phoned this morning to talk to Unity Customer service and they didn't know what was meant by "certificate." She thought perhaps it was the booklet that outlined the terms of service. I already have that and I have read it. I make certain I know what our coverage is. I have read the medicare booklet and the booklet for our new insurance. The good news is the UW Medical Foundation issued an authorization on Jan 15 so they will pay what Medicare doesn't. But they should have someone redo their boiler plate so it makes sense.
