They're breaking up the band!

Yes, I owe you all a lot of posts on other things, but I hope a few of you will join in my fannish dismay while waiting for those posts too.

I was upset and depressed about some real world things and turned to Twitter, which was a mistake. I found Anthony Mackie was trending and thought, "Yay! They've finally announced more cast for Captain America 4!"

Yes, they have! And yes, Danny Ramirez will be back as Joaquín Torres. Carl Lumbly will be back as Isaiah Bradley! That's a lovely surprise! And . . . and . . . and. . . .

Bucky's not in it. They've put him in a different movie, Thunderbolts, whose IMDb description is "A group of supervillains are recruited to go on missions for the government."
A. You gave me six episodes-under 45 minutes each!-of Sam and Bucky bonding only to split them up?! Just enough to invest me totally in their relationship? And then you do this?
B. Bucky is a supervillain?
C. You're breaking up Bucky and Sam?
D. The Red Guardian is a supervillain?
E. You're breaking up Sam and Bucky?
F. Yelena Belova is a-I might give you that one, except I think of supervillains as masterminds. She's a highly effective assassin. She's a very ambiguous character, sometimes doing the right thing and sometimes killing for hire. But is that a supervillain?
G. You're breaking up Bucky and Sam? (Did anyone ask Sam's sister Sarah what she thinks about this?
H. John Walker is a supervillain?
I. You're breaking up MY BEST GUYS?

So here are the articles that broke my little MCU heart: "Chris Evans Says ‘Sam Wilson is Captain America’ Ahead of 4th Movie: Everything to Know About Anthony Mackie’s Marvel Film" by Nicole Massabrook.
And can we knock it off with bringing up Chris Evans every time we talk about Captain America? Anthony Mackie is Cap now. We don't bring up Edward Norton every time we talk about The Hulk.

And "Thunderbolts: Sebastian Stan Breaks Silence on His Surprise Marvel Return" by Richard Nebens.

The article says Julia Louis-Dreyfus knew she was going to be in this movie, but Stan and Wyatt Russell (John Walker) didn't.

I just loved, loved, loved Sam and Bucky together. I don't want them in separate movies; I want them together! This is my fic fandom right now. I read gen, I read slash, I read weird stuff and some not-so-good stuff that I wouldn't read if I didn't want a lot more of the two of them together.

I hope people will keep writing them together and not just go off and write them separately. I also read Star Trek: Discovery fic, but I felt like after Strange New Worlds started, a lot of people went off and wrote that and stopped writing for my favorite characters on Disco (basically all the regulars on that show). [And, adding insult to injury, some of those writers are tagging as Discovery stories that are really SNW, because Pike, Spock, and Una appeared on Disco. Dudes, if it's after Discovery left the building and it doesn't feature any of the characters from Disco but those three, just tag it SNW, not Disco. Please. I beg you. I keep thinking there's new fic that turns out not even to be in the fandom I want.)

I love that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan apparently became real, good friends. They joke with and about each other and they say nice things about each other (right before or after they joke about each other). This was my favorite escape since I watched The Falcon and the Winter Soldier a year and a half ago, and I really could use escapism right now.

Anyone else feel the same?
