So, update?

It's been awhile, hasn't it? Not a whole lot has been going on with me, really... Last weekend I was home after meeting with a nutritionist about what I can and can't eat. It was depressing to hear many, many good things being crossed off of that list. I felt kind of overwhelmed, and I snapped at my dad, sister, mom AND stepdad over the course of the weekend.

I went back to the dorm, and the actual week was terrible. I don't think I've ever been busier. I got sick on Tuesday, and I still am. So much was assigned, and so much was due. I felt like death by Friday.

That was when my friends decided they were going to go out. I wasn't going to go since, well, I can't rally drink anything, but I decided to anyway, seeing as I really wanted to BE with my friends. It was actually a good time. I'm getting pretty good at being sociable at a party without drinking. Admittedly, it's not as fun, though.

I did get a surprise that night, however. My friend Brendan (the one who was in Hong Kong and is now in Chicago) called and said he was in town. He headed over to the party, and I introduced him to my friends. I don't think many of them remember it, though! It was really nice to see him, so I was glad I didn't stay home and go to bed early.

Saturday my dad came up and took me out to dinner with a a family he knew. The thing is, one of them has Celiac's Disease, too. They got me a lot of information about what I can and can't eat, and even put together a gift basket for me. Plus I got to eat steak! All was well.

As I got back to the dorm, I realized I had to go to a meeting for my fraternity about right then. So I hurried over, arrived ten minutes late, and led a two hour long meeting as my cold got progressively worse. After that, I head back to my room and nearly fall asleep trying to do homework.

This is when Alex, a friend from Missouri, surpises all of us by showing up for the night. So, of course, I decide I have to go out. I took some cold medicine which didn't do much, and we headed out to a party. It was pretty dull for me, and it ended early. We decided to buy some stuff of our own and then head back to the dorms to enjoy it.

They ended up buying something that they thought I could drink... a bottle of cheap wine. This was another good surprise, so I downed it in about ten minutes. Only then did I look at the bottle to see that it was malted, which means it was bad for me. This kills my buzz, which ended up lasting about two minutes. A New Celiac record.

Even still, it's a good time. I love my friends, and everybody is pretty happy. Then, one of my friends starts acting like an ass, and upsets a few people. Then he runs off, so we go look for him. Eventually we find him, although he doesn't really settle down. I'm still not sure what his deal was, but he headed to bed eventually, and that was probably for the best.

The girls headed back to their floor, and they were pretty trashed. I decided to go up and check on them, and I find Mandy passed out in another girl's room. I bring the trash can over to her and keep the hair out of her face, because she thinks she's going to throw up. She doesn't, and then she decides she wants to go back to her room. I help her up, and we get about halfway there before she starts feeling sick again. We get inside her room and to a trash can just in time, and she starts feeling better shortly after. The other girls help her get ready for bed, and I head back to my floor. Then to bed myself shortly after.

Today, I still feel sick, and I have a ton of homework that I didn't do. I also feel confused. You see, I started getting together with Jill again, and I'm worried that I'm falling into the same rut she always gets me into. So I don't know what to make of that. I also think I'm feeling something for Mandy, but there's a problem there. She's sort of like me in that she really likes somebody who has no similar feelings for her. I don't see any good coming from this.

Well, I have tons of homework to do, and I'm supposed to go to a Super Bowl party. I also need some lunch. I hope I can get on live journal more often now, but it looks like it'll be another busy week. Hopefully, I'll see you all again soon.
