...or here for opening in a new window.

01- It's written in the info of the file plus a locked post, but basically it was taken from this google video and merged with 32sec of the Xela track 'Teddy Boy in a Sweet Shop'. reason I titled it that.

03- This is on the Barbarian EP which I think came out last year? not sure. I just found it recently. it does have the recent song 'Over and Over' on it, so I know it's probably either/or.

04- Basically for the oh oh oh's that follow the theme of the ones in the Hot Chip song and catchiness of it. oh oh oh's are better than la la la's... most profound thing I've said yet. take note. also, yes, this is a Kate Bush cover in case you didn't know or did and are antsy to point it out.

06- I just love how it builds up. Band of Horses' album is one of my favourite albums that came out this year so far.. I mean it. I am not just saying that. this song brings the whole mix together... we're all just monsters... people.

08- The Buck 65 song namechecks Neko Case, so I thought she needed to come on in. this is from the new album..

10- I didn't add a fade in on purpose though now I semi-wish I did since it sounded too loud in retrospect. still pretty good.

11- I discovered this band by the fact that it was in like 10 people I bookmarked on soulseek's new / 2006 folder. I had never heard of them, but now I'm glad I decided to find out.

12- Guitar is one of those Morr bands I didn't even pay any attention to before.. I then downloaded Tokyo which isn't even on the Morr label and... I was hooked. I like everything Japan damnit. their album Sunkissed which is on Morr isn't as good though... in fact, beyond like two tracks, it was a bit cheesy. I've been contemplating whether to delete all but those or not. it was described as My Bloody Valentine in style, but.. yeah, maybe MBV with added cheesy flavouring... just get Tokyo and be happy.

13- Not sure if I'm allowed to share this, but oh well.. it seemed to go well with the theme a bit... it even mentions a 'Bay' which is the name of the Mountains track! I like it when there are hidden connections in a mix to pull it further together. this isn't my favourite song on the album though to be sure. it just is the only one that worked.

14- New Calexico is goood.... "It's too late! It's toooo late! too late!"

16- I've decided this is one of my fav. songs to half sing along to... ie; the chorus.... "No, I wouldn't go out alone.. into America!" also the black, white and red is close enough to the title of the Guitar song to be a reference... well, okay, not really.

17- I almost used 'Calling Thermatico' since it's my fav., but it didn't work at all with flow anywhere... it sounds like that Shellac song 'Prayer to God' at the beginning as well... anyhow, this song was my second fav... "It's hard to believe the mess you're creating" which makes me think "you just haven't seen my good side yet".... also, "waiting for their prey" goes along with the giant little animals of 'Monsters'.

18- I love I'm Not a Gun. end.

Theme: Pain / love / fear

I meant to make room for a Skream track, but there's never any room for bass on a mix like this, so I'll just link it at a later date when the signal isn't being a bitch. I'm glad I uploaded the tracks last night before bed.. heh.

Feel free to speak up if you like it... or not.
