Oh poor Elrond! I really wish it weren't so. A powerful drabble; so bittersweet, and it rings so true the way Elrond thinks. You write him so well!

Love and regret; the two emotions that seem to dog every interaction the elves have with mortals. Someone...I think the hobbits, described the elves as being perilous to mortals but I think mortals were equally or maybe more perilous to elves.
