In other news, we saw Slumdog Millionaire today, and I really enjoyed it! So did avatar1983, be he said it was maybe a little overhyped. I thought it was as excellent as advertized, though I'm not convinced it can win Best Picture. Then again, I am also seriously baffled by how many people on ONTD seem to have hated Benjamin Button, so maybe I'm just a sucker? I don't know. I also don't think Slumdog can be my favorite Danny Boyle movie, because 28 Days Later is a Danny Boyle movie, too...Anyway, not important. We also tried out a new Thai place on London Rd, and it was delicious! More expensive than Siam Inter Thai, but probably less expensive than Baan Thai (we went to Thai Punna...all of these are on the same road, which is also the same road as a thousand Chinese, Turkish, noodle bars, two Japanese places, a Greek place, an Irish place, etc. etc...), and really good. The food also appeared from the ether really fast after we ordered, so that was kind of cool. We didn't stay for dessert because we have delicious leftover cake that avatar1983 made yesterday XD Good times. Oh, we also watched Road to El Dorado, which was better than its box office earnings allowed for, and still pretty great (despite Kenneth Branagh, against whom I have a grudge which is possibly fading with time) XD
Yesterday was really good, and fortunately the only bitching I heard about how "Valentine's Day sucks!" was on ONTD comments, where it wasn't worth wading into the fray. Sigh! Still. I got flowers and chocolate, which was lovely, and a cake! Also lovely XD We had a delicious fish dinner in and watched the first episode of Dollhouse, which is possibly promising? And after dinner The Aviator, which I had never seen, and thought was very good. I spent the first like 3 minutes of Cate Blanchett going "Audrey Hepburn never looked like that, and she never spoke like that" before going "O rite I'm retarded KATHARINE Hepburn."
