"Et lux perpetua luceat eis"

I seem to have become remarkably lax in my posting recently, which is probably not a disaster, all things considered.

It's not as though things have been hectic, but there has been activity since my last post. Tuesday, avatar1983 and I went to IKEA to get a comforter (and cover) that is actually big enough to cover the bed (and it's super fluffy and sooooooo comfortable! :D) We also ended up with a new pillow for him, because the old stacking method wasn't really working out. Then we went to the kaiten sushi place down by the cathedral and spent entirely too much money eating delicious delicious sushi XD It was a good day.

Wednesday I went to the mall to try on the dress I couldn't try on Monday, but that Debenham's didn't have it in my size which was super-frustrating. I tried on a few other dresses and was pleasantly suprised by how good one of the other ones looked, so I got that instead (and a purse and shawl to match). Unfortunately, I couldn't find any shoes I liked to go with it, even after scouring both the mall and the websites of shoe shops in town I could go to, so I'll just have to settle for a pair I already have. Alas!

Yesterday I went to the university's Singers' Society, to join which one need not be a student, and I really enjoyed myself. It's a little daunting as there's a concert in two weeks and a little strange because they're singing Mozart's Requiem which is what we were doing at Tulane when I quit, so I vaguely remember about half of any given part that we did...It'll be interesting. But I've missed singing anything other than "along," so I'm really glad to have found that. I'm thinking of asking around there about lessons as well, since I am hella out of practice (that's what 5 years of no singing interrupted by a two months of weekly singing will do). We shall see.

Today I am watching Arsenic and Old Lace whilst making avatar1983 his own "Science Says NO" shirt (which will take some time, as I'm not convinced I have enough white paint to finish it, so we'll see how it goes. Worst-case scenario, we have to buy more paint before I can finish the layers. Oh, well - it's not like it's on a timer. :D

Tomorrow, we are going to (another) wedding! I have only met the people involved once or twice, so for me it's mostly just a party :D Their registry was remarkably impractical (but they already live together so books, DVD's, comics, etc seem like a reasonable replacement) and kind of hispter, but we were able to find something to get them that I could support (Arrested Development :D Which of course led to us downloading the whole series so I could show avatar1983...which I haven't done yet, but will >:D).

Before that, tonight is the start of the roleplaying society's 24-hour rp-for-charity thing, so we'll be going to that for a while, which will give us a good opportunity to get some people to play Shadows Over Camelot with us (we/I just bought it), yay! Maybe someone will have Arkham Horror, too...it's been such a long time!I miss that game. As you can tell, because of the wedding we'll not be staying long enough to play any of the campaigns that people will be running, so board games it is!

I think it's time for the next layer on the shirt now, so off I go :D

shopping, friends, crafty, games, singing
