I am SO TIRED of seeing LJ posts, reading news stories, and generally consuming data points about people becoming incapacitated and basically screwed for not having health insurance. This is atrocious in a country that calls itself developed. Dear Pres. Obama: this would be one of those pesky campaign promises you've been overlooking. I am out of civil ways to express this.
I, single, mostly-healthy, employed, mega-privileged, federal/state/local-tax-paying person that I am, would pay triple or quadruple taxes if they were funding these people's ability to get the fuck on with their lives instead of prosecuting eternal warfare and nationalizing car companies. I am angry enough for some serious activism on this point.
