So I had this ugly promotional tote bag. I wanted to start bringing my lunch to work, but the tote bag didn't make a very good vessel for a piece of fruit and a tupperware box. I thought, "I know! I'll mod it into a more practical lunch bag with my leet sewing skillz."

Bought a zipper and some bias tape for two bucks at a trim shop in the garment district, cut it apart yesterday evening, measured carefully with a pear and the box, found a cut that would theoretically fit everything and excise the ugly bit of the pattern, made it up, and just finished a really quite well-executed little bag. (Quilting didn't work. I'm okay with that. I don't know anything about quilting.)

It doesn't fit.

I mean, the tupperware fits comfortably, but the whole *point* of this exercise was to end up with something that would usefully transport fruit and sandwich in the same bag without squashing the fruit. The tote bag wasn't wide enough to make big enough gussets, I guess.

*eyeroll*

wtf, diy
