can't stay inside all day

Anoche:
Owing to a miscommunication of movie times, dinner happened at Gameworks instead of a Thai place. I asked the waiter whether burgers could be made veggie, and he said "Sure, we can make it with turkey burgers."

"Um," says I, "turkeys are not vegetables."

He turned pink and apologetic. Ran back to the kitchen to confirm that yes, they could do veggie burgers.

Then we ordered nachos as an appetizer (this was NOT a very healthy repast) and he asked, by sheer force of habit, if I wanted chicken on there.. then caught himself, laughing too hard to take the rest of the order. The whole table's cracked up by now. We decided that chicken is actually a mineral. That poor waiter. :D

The Aristocrats does not bear proper review. I was honestly about to get up and leave, but then there was the mime... and I'm stopping RIGHT THERE.

Brain-dump of possible Ways To Spend A Nice Weekend, with implicit invitation:

A Lush shop has opened in Bellevue, quoth the lovely (and probably-by-now delicious-smelling) damiana_swan. The grand opening party is on the 25th, which would be fun to attend, but I'm going to be spending the evening of the 25th packing for a 7am flight on Friday morning. Errgh. For some reason, I would really like to go to Lush this weekend and shop for overpriced bath goo. Anybody?

Cirrus demo at Boeing Field this afternoon. Am undecided about going. Likewise the EAA barbecue tomorrow in Kent - on the one hand, free food and nifty airplanes. On the other hand, there seem to be two kinds of EAA people: interesting, socially modern, and generally polite folks such as randomdreams and cascademiles; and elderly codgers whose morals, manners, appreciation of airplanes, and attitudes towards women date from the 1940s. I prefer hanging out with geeks who'll entertain my sincere, interested questions about their hobby, not geeks who'll tell me I should go home and make babies. It's a tossup.

Also, hike tomorrow. I am doing that annoying thing of basing my interest on others' expressed interest, which is precisely how proposed events fail to happen.

Also have HUJ amount of work-work to do, now that finals are over (!) and work deadlines have been pushed rather further than they ought. I spent so much time on my newfound hobby that I need a break from that, too. I'm sure the metalcrafts bug will bite again, hard, and soon. I'm too much in love for it to be a summer fling. :)

And I should do the dishes... but there's this KITTEN on my lap, you see. Oh, she went away. Damn. Dishes it is.

edited to say that I mis-read an event calendar, and the moon is still full-ish, but not eclipsing. I had my hopes up, too. :( But USNO says there's one in October. An October night with a bloody-gold moon... Mmmm.
