[The church itself creaks with each step he takes, the vague figure of the witch herself in the far off distance, to the point where she's fuzzy with how far away she is.]

[The singing continues, quiet as Sebastian first enters the church, reduced to a soft hum. The small creatures do nothing but turn and stare- even as they remain still, their individual body parts shake and spasm.]

[Their voices are distorted, more akin to the recordings of voices kept on a damaged record.]

[He knows better than to rush as the demon is always calculative in his own nature. He's patient when he needs to me and continues to take those careful steps through the rot, tilting his head down at the creatures]

I'm afraid I don't understand. [But he'll lift his head towards the witch in the distance. He can't help but mildly lick his lips]

[The music becomes louder, the singer more passionate. The creatures themselves follow suit, breaking their tight formation and moving forward slowly, floating in the air by their nooses.]

[The boards under his feet begin to rot and warp, the stench once again hitting his nose.]

[The minions, for what little they have, seem to change in their expression- they look predatory.]

[It makes his fingers curl and lift towards his nose to block the scent. Ah, how repulsive. If given the liberty he might've cleaned a place like this at one point. His eyes remove from the witch to look down at his feet, taking a few cautious steps forward to test if the destruction under them will worsen.

But eyes do not stay there long as the look about the minions is more than enough to gain his attention and knives slip into his knuckles] While rude of me to suggest you might attack when I've clearly done nothing wrong, I still cannot understand you.

Even if these feelings, this despair, pain, starvation. I know them all well. [The demon was always starving, but unlike the witch far from him, he was patient

[The minions stop at his words, seemingly listening to them- at least, they aren't moving any more forward, but their intent has not change. They watch him like a flock of hawks.]

[The boards fall into themselves, creating a mouth in the floor that rapidly advances toward Sebastian's feet, the heat of fire coming from within the depths.]

[As this happens, the minions begin to crowd around him, organizing themselves into rows, and advancing- to push him backwards into the pit.]

[They raise their starved arms with the cross spears, ready to throw at a moment's notice.]

[Someone is crying in the distance- perhaps it comes from within the pit.]

[The minute he feels the loss of something under his feet, he'll press at whatever he can and leap into the air rather quickly and rather hard, grabbing onto anything he could possibly hang on in a church.

Which of course makes him realize he's most likely an easy target right now. Fingers slip more knives into his free hand, throwing them at whatever might be thrown at him.

The cry is almost tempting. He almost wants to fall into that pit to investigate.]

[The instant he jumps into the air, the minions release their crosses, creating a barrage of the weapons flying toward him. There must be thousands coming at him, perhaps more than were actually thrown.]

[Many of the minions themselves are hit by the knives, instantly turning into ash, but for every one that falls two more seem to take their place.]

[They seem fed up with merely looking aggressive- the creatures all lurch forward at once after the weapons are thrown, new spears ready to impale Sebastian with.]

[Not now. It isn't a good place to be. He wants to stay and play but with the way things are going, he shouldn't be fighting, at least not yet. His job is to scout and so he has to remain somewhat intact.

Sebastian assesses the situation. There are too many minions and too many crosses for his limited knives and while he would be able to block most of them, he'd rather not push himself too far.

Seeing as they are coming forward, his only options are up or down. The demon chooses up, moving up onto whatever he was holding and pushing back, over the minions and back towards the beginning of the church]

How I would love to stay and play.

[The witch screams, sending minion after minion after him. They each try to grab at his clothes, tug at them, but their arms are just too round to get a good grip.]

[With a shake of her wings, the witch summons a barrage of crosses that land in front of the church's long, tall doors that look almost impenetrable to any human.]

[The minions keep chasing after sebastian, still babbling in their strange language.]

[Ah, very annoying. The little nubs grabing at him are not pleasent. He certainly hates being manhandled. Strongly he'll hit and kick at any clingers and when the witch makes any momentous sound, he'll lift his eyes to the rather large barrage of crosses landing against the church's doors]

Oh, I promise you that I will return, m'lady. But for now, I will have to bid you a good night.

[Pushing back as quickly as he can, he'll reach the doors and simply use his shoulder to barrel through them. He is no human and his demon strength assist. Either way, whether he gets through them or not, he'll use the distraction to simply disappear]

[The screams of the witch are eventually drowned out by what sounds like that incessant sobbing. The doors open with his charge, and instantly he is thrown out into the barren orchard once more, the witch or the church a far distance away once more.]

[Once again, it's quiet.]
