THE CROSS VALLEY

Sometime early on the 9th

[Castiel knows better than to venture too far alone--it's foolish and he's been told not to--but that isn't going to stop him from scouting. He simply does so on foot instead of flying, drifting silently through the desaturated city until he happens upon the crosses.

They're beautiful and unsettling all at once, and he stops a moment to consider them.]

[[ooc: Feel free to team up with him, especially those that are plotted to fight together with him in the final battle.]

[The smell is unpleasant, to say the least, but Snape has smelled worse, and the feelings of despair that's pervaded most of the city is not unfamiliar to a Death Eater such as him. He stays on course, tracking Killua from the sky as he flies through the air, eyes sharp and darting around to make sure that there are not any unexpected dangers approaching the group below him, so it doesn't take him long to spot Castiel.

The angel would be a more than valuable ally, and it would also serve as a chance for Snape to strengthen whatever... well, whatever it is that is between him and the angels, so the wizard lands besides him, easily dodging the few, weak balls of fire that are still falling from the sky within the witch's barrier.]

Mr. Castiel.

[Castiel's senses alert him to Snape's presence as he begins to land; his attention snaps toward him and Castiel draws his sword on reflex, the weapon dropping out of his sleeve and into his hand in an instant. But then he recognizes the wizard and relaxes just slightly.]

Snape.

[Of all people to see here, Snape's not a bad one. He's certainly capable and with Catiel running so low on strength, an ally is welcomed.]

What are you doing here?

[snarkypotions]

[The glint of the sword doesn't surprise Snape, nor does it worry him unduly. The fast reflexes merely reassure him as he quickly glances for the angel. Something about him is different, more powerful, more like his brothers, and it bodes well.]

Making sure a certain idiot doesn't die.

[He tilts his head towards the west, where Killua, Gon and Kurapica are making their way towards the church.]

You?

[He flips the sword expertly in his hand and then flicks it back up his sleeve where it disappears, as he glances briefly in the direction Snape indicated. He stretches out his senses, feeling carefully; he can sense individuals but not who they are, his currently weak senses dulled farther by all the unnatural chaos in this area.]

Attempting to figure out what we are dealing with.

[He already knows who.]

It needs to be destroyed.

[And that he has no question about.]

So I've gathered. The others seem to intend to do that as well.

[A considering gaze.]

Misters Zoldyck, Freecss and Kurapica, that is.

[He nods slightly. He doesn't know details about any of their abilities, but as far as he does know they're capable.]

We should work as a group, if possible. Do you know anything about what we are facing?

[snarkypotions]

It will be.

[His tone makes it clear that any refusal will not be tolerated. Adstringendum can go down in flames for all he cares... he's had enough of this place. But he won't stand by and watch as the people he cares about get hurt by the antics of the Animus, so he will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.]

But unfortunately, I do not know anything about these witches. You?

[He shakes his head just a fraction.]

I know very little. I'm not certain what will be effective against them.

[That's the biggest issue. Fighting with weapons or abilities that do nothing is going to get them all killed, and Teleos had told him to try to avoid large groups dying together.]

Then we shall have to do as much reconnaissance as we can and adjust our tactics as events unfold, but for now, what do you know?

[wingsandwill]

I know that that creature used to be Kyoko Sakura.

[He had suspected it before, and now he's completely certain.]

[snarkypotions]

[A completely unimpressed eyebrow. He doesn't know Kyoko well enough to know her abilities. And seeing how Killua is headed towards this witch... Well.]

And?

[wingsandwill]

And that is all I know.

[Unimpressed face right back. He doesn't really know much of Kyoko's abilities either, despite being friends with her. It's that part that he really cares about.]

Very well.

[There's a brief glance in the direction that the others are before he faces forward again and gestures up the path, his wand ready to slip into his hand at any minute.]

Shall we?

[He glances the way Snape does when he does, then also turns his attention forward again, senses stretched out to try to keep them from being taken unaware by anything.]

Yes.

[And with that he starts forward, ready to manifest his sword again at any moment if necessary.]
