Right now, she found herself walking back from the place Ron and her were working on back to her new house with Yoko. Suki wasn't coming home empty handed either, she was bringing back some things for the house. It was getting colder and their house wasn't ready. With Sokka, their house was, but Suki wasn't going back there anytime soon. But then, before Suki got very far, she saw someone she really didn't want to see. Suki wasn't one to hide, but she ducked her head, hoping the other girl didn't see her.

Forcing the weakest smile imaginable to her face, Hermione kept closing the distance between them, letting out an awkward wave and greeting, "Hello, Suki." Her mouth moved again, meaning to ask her how she was, but she realized that that was likely a loaded question, and so she opted to keep her mouth shut for now, until she at least tested the waters.

Her stomach felt like it was knot, like she was going to throw up, but she didn't. Instead she looked up at the other girl, almost expressionless. Before speaking, Suki's eyes drifted to the ground before forcing a smile on her face. It was an awful smile, not a single ounce of joy in it, but Suki was trying to be friendly.
"He-Hey." She replied weakly. "Where are you going?"
Reply
"Nowhere in particular," she replied softly. "I just... went back to the house to get a few things and settled on going for a walk. Er... what about you?"

Suki wanted to make it clear that she was no longer with Sokka right now. Not in a nasty way, just leaving the hint with Hermione, but there was more she wanted to say, and the expression on her face said just that. The only problem was she didn't know how to put it in words.
"Hermione. I... um, I don't hate you. Alright?"
Reply
"Oh-...." Fighting for something else to say, she murmured, "That-... that's good, I suppose. I mean, it is, but... it is. Thank you."
Reply
"No problem." She said awkwardly. "And, I'm sorry for being so rude to you. You didn't deserve that."

The last word she spoke was all she needed to say.

"I understand," she said softly. "I don't know of anything that can repair that, except for time. But-... but if you're willing to try and get this to work, then I certainly am, too."

"Thank you," she choked out. "I-... I can't even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to hear that...."
Reply
"Don't be too happy about it." Suki said. She knew Hermione would've noticed how it was so difficult for Suki to even touch her right now.

"I know," she murmured. "It's just... I'm just glad that-... that there's a chance for everything to be all right again. Sokka loves you, Suki." She bit her lip, not having meant to blurt it out, but there was no turning back now. "I know it's not my place to say it, but he really does. He's been so lonesome without you. So I hope that... that the two of you can find what you once had, or at least something like it. I want you to be happy, the way you deserve to be."
Reply
"I, I know." She admitted, "But, well, I said that he and I could try to be friends again."
Reply
"That's good," she lied. "Ron and I are trying for that, too. We've too much history to just walk away from one another, after all."
