Of course Hiten had been at his house, he had nowhere else to be. Though it probably wasn’t his best decision to stay considering how much he’d openly broadcasted his location for the purpose of confrontation. There were a lot of considerations he could have made, but the thunder demon was never known to think things through. Hiding would only make him consider himself a coward. That was all he knew and he wouldn’t stand for that ( ... )

Naraku smiled evilly at Hiten's response. It was just as he suspected; Kikyo had done quite a number on the demon. He would be an easy absorption, and this wouldn't take longer than a few minutes. And then he'd be able to finish off Sesshoumaru before he even had a chance to recover.

"I would say the miko did quite well for a human woman, would you not agree?" he said quietly, several tendrils sprouting out of his back. "I shall make this quick. You will be relieved of your embarrassment soon enough." Without wasting another world, no less than six spiked tendrils shot out of Naraku's back, forking outwards, the razor-sharp, jagged spikes aiming to impale Hiten from all sides.

this post came out beautifully btw ♥ pity_bangs October 5 2011, 14:22:10 UTC
The attack was one too quick for Hiten to get his word in on the comments Naraku left. It was unexpected, a jolt of pain attacking every angle of his body. The pain of his arm was forgotten as his scarlet eyes widened much to his dismay. A part of him hoped to slip out of consciousness right now, but he again scolded himself for such thoughts. Naraku was powerful, he wouldn’t deny that, but he wouldn’t necessarily admit it, either ( ... )

That angered Naraku. This battle was painfully easy, and Hiten hadn't even managed to fight back. At his words, Naraku sprouted yet more spikes from the tendrils already in Hiten's body, which would likely eviscerate him even further. "When I finish absorbing you, demon, I shall petition the Animus to bring your brother here," Naraku said quietly, his eyes showing his anger. "I only wish you would be here to watch him suffer."

Hiten would then feel his insides being drained. Naraku was going to absorb him from the inside out. Whoever heard Kikyo's warning, now was your chance to save him before Naraku finished him off.

Sango didn't miss her chance.

The solid, deadly pale form of Hiraikotsu hurtled through the air. The nearly six foot long boomerang sped to cut mercilessly through the tentacles, leaving them--and possibly Hiten--to fall to the ground.

Sango caught the weapon upon its faithful return, sweeping by on the back of a transformed Kirara.

As soon as the Hiraikotsu returned to Sango, Inuyasha moved in for the kill. He was still seeing red from what Hiten did to Kikyou, but at the moment he had more important things to deal with. If Naraku was able to absorb Hiten, that would only serve to make the hanyou even stronger, something Inuyasha wanted to avoid at all costs.

If he was lucky, maybe he'd be able to bring down both Hiten AND Naraku today.

"Eat this! WIND SCAR!" The attack shot out of his blade, heading in both Naraku and Hiten's direction.

Of course! bcuzofmiasma October 8 2011, 06:51:14 UTC
Naraku winced in pain as the tentacles were severed from his body, the familiar boomerang causing him to drop Hiten and turn to face the newcomers. InuYasha and Sango, along with that insufferable feline demon.

When Naraku raised his sword to perform the Wind Scar, Naraku quickly floating to the left, leaving only Hiten in way of the attack. "A demon slayer coming to save a demon. How quaint," Naraku chided, disappointed that he now had to fight them instead of absorbing Hiten. He'd then summon more miasma, hoping to obscure the battlefield in a thick fog. Naraku knew he was outnumbered, but he wasn't without his own advantages.

sorry for the late...i got confused >.> pity_bangs October 9 2011, 01:47:05 UTC
At the breaking of the tendril, Hiten was dropped to collapse. Literally, to his knees. It might have hurt if everything else in his body wasn’t so achy. Sensational numbness was all he desired, and then it hit him that he was realeased. But how? Who was - Inuyasha’s voice was the first one he heard clearly. He couldn’t make out what he was saying, but he was at least able to recognize it ( ... )

Sango's face grew grimmer at Naraku's comment. "Don't mistake this for something it's not, you bastard," she practically hissed, pulling her mask over her face in the instant she felt the miasma permeate. Over the months she'd developed a tolerance for the stuff, but it was still fatal if too much was consumed.

Then all of a sudden Kikyo arrived and Hiten got up and she cursed under her breath, grip tightening on the boomerang in her hand. But the blast was weak and she knew it; if she had to, she would utilize her paralysis poisons on the thunder brother, but it seemed as if he'd exhausted herself.

"Kikyo-sama!" She gritted her teeth in frustration. Kikyo wasn't supposed to be here, Hiten wasn't supposed to be interfering, this wasn't supposed to be happening in the first place. And yet it was. "Stay back--!"

"Wha..."

Kikyou's sudden appearance caught Inuyasha completely off guard. He had been fully prepared to go through the miasma and take both demons head on, but now he had more important things to worry about besides those two.

"K-Kikyou! What the hell are you doin' here?!"

When a purifying arrow sailed through the air dispelling his miasma, he had fully expected Kagome to have been the one to fire it. When he saw that it had come from Kikyo, Naraku's eyes narrowed. "Why do you interfere?" Naraku asked, a bit less hostile than one would expect from him.

The hanyou lowered himself to the ground, making note of Hiten's pitiful display of lightning. It was almost certainly going to miss, if it even reached its intended target. "This no longer concerns you, Kikyo. Leave."

"Kikyo-sama..."

But you asked for help.

She wanted to point it out--but she knew it would just make things worse for the miko. So her eyes fell to Inuyasha, who would make the call.

Who always made the calls, when it came to Kikyo.

And she marveled a little that one woman held the power to keep two of the most powerful creatures she knew in check, with words alone.

Hiten's lightning was easy enough for him to avoid, even with the sudden distraction. Inuyasha could tell that the full demon wasn't able to put up much of a fight anymore, not that it dulled his need for revenge any. He would kick Hiten's ass after dealing with Naraku.

Dodging away from the pitiful attack, Inuyasha was able to look back at Kikyou. He was vaguely aware of the eyes watching him, waiting for his next move, but he didn't care.

"I don't get it...Don't tell me you came here just to stop the fight!"

His eyes shot back over to where Naraku stood. What on Earth was going on here?

Naraku blinked at Kikyo's response. He turned back to Hiten, and saw that he was all but defeated. He was bleeding in torrents, and he was virtually powerless. Turning back to Kikyo once more, Naraku huffed slightly. With one more glance at InuYasha, Naraku turned away from the others, and leaving a cloud of miasma in his wake, flew away.

He could not believe Kikyo actually managed to make him leave like this. He would need to discuss this further with her later.
