Blaine was, probably for the first time in a few days, sleeping. Though even in his sleep, he was propped in a chair by Kurt's bedside with his hand loosely holding onto Kurt's previously limp one. He was so exhausted that even the slight jerk of Kurt's body coming back to life could not wake him.

Even with sleep, he still looked like he was a mess. He had barely left Kurt's side during the last few days and the only times he did leave were when he was physically pulled from the room. He had showered maybe once or twice during the few days and he had eaten only a few more times than that. His hair was greasy and ungelled and there were dark bags under his eyes. Not the most attractive look in the world.

It would have to be up to Kurt to inform Blaine that he had returned.

It took Kurt a full five minutes for his brain to catch up with him, for his eyes to adjust to the dim lighting the early hours brought, and even longer for him to even realize that he was just laying in a bed, staring at the ceiling. He could feel Blaine's hand resting on his, could feel the warmth from his palm, the gentle twitching of his fingers in his sleep, and ultimately... that was what had him turning his head, staring blankly at Blaine for a moment before something just... clicked.

And suddenly, the entire past week came flooding back. The event, Blaine's reaction to it, Cameron... oh... that's right... Cameron.

His hand tightened on Blaine's as he blinked against the tears stinging at his eyes. He'd died on him. On his boyfriend. During the week he was supposed to protect him. So, he cleared his throat, trying his best not to have his voice be too scratchy.

"Bl... Blaine..."

The slight shift of the others' body and the sound of Kurt's voice is able to bring Blaine out from his slumber. He seems a bit disoriented for a moment, opening his eyes partially and rubbing them with his free hand. It takes him a moment to realize that the hand he's holding is warm, and not from his own body heat. From then on, he realizes that Kurt's moving, speaking, alive.

He immediately jumps in response and leans forward to get closer to Kurt. He doesn't want to do anything that could somehow hurt Kurt in his fragile condition.

"K-Kurt...you're back, baby..."

He can't stop his tears from falling down his face. Though this time, they're coupled with a small, sad smile.

The sight of Blaine crying had his breath catching in his throat, had him blinking back tears and forcing himself, really forcing himself to get up a bit, struggling a bit until he was propped back against he headboard in a sitting position, a little short on breath, but otherwise fine. Sore, but fine.

"Yeah, I... I couldn't just leave you alone, right?" his voice is a little shaky, the smile he gives Blaine in return a little watery, but he isn't crying just yet. He's still in the mindset of the event, still determined to be strong, to-

... Wait. Wait. Blaine just... he just called him baby. And suddenly, Kurt just looks even more choked up. "It's.... it's past Sunday, isn't it?"

Meaning he has his boyfriend back.

As soon as she saw the movement, Rachel jolted out of her doze to practically leap to Kurt's bedside, taking his hand gently in her own with wide eyes.

"Kurt?" Rachel whispered, her voice trembling as she squeezed his hand a little too tightly.

His eyes widened a bit at the sudden movement, but other than that his face remained perplexed, blank for a moment more, before recognition flashed in his eyes, and he let out a slow hiss of discomfort as he tried to move a bit, to push himself up a bit more.

Too bad he was sore as hell from that... dying stunt he'd just pulled.

"Rachel..." he shifted a bit instead, trying to get his head to turn enough to really face the girl above him, looking her over and... "... You look like you've just been hit by a truck."

A laugh bubbled out of her throat at the statement before she stood to actually sit on the edge of the bed, his hand still clasped tightly in hers. She did look a mess -- Rachel hadn't slept very much, her clothes were wrinkled, but at least she was smiling. That was something of an improvement, from last time.

"You look much better than I do," Rachel assured him, still clinging to that hand, as if to make sure Kurt was anchored, firmly, to her.

"Of course I do," he muttered with a roll of his eyes, squeezing her hand a bit as a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. His eyes were fond, despite the ego his words were dripping with, despite the sarcastic comment at the tip of his tongue. The comment he refused to voice, that he kept-

... Okay, no. Kurt's battle with sarcasm, even inappropriately timed sarcasm, was not one he had a chance at winning.

"You know, as much as I appreciate the constant reminder of yes, I'm alive and can thus feel pain now... I kind of need my hand, Rachel."

She'd come in for a visit. She had to. It was probably the fourth time in the past two days- the number much higher since she'd first heard the news. She had never been able to stay long though; the sight of such a lifeless body leaving her sick to the stomach with grief. Stubbornness kept her coming back.

And today... Today there was a Kurt Hummel laying on the bed, color back in his cheeks, eyes open, moving, breathing. She quite neatly dropped the little bag she'd been carrying, the book-filled satchel thudding against the ground.
Within the same moment, Rapunzel would have flung herself onto the bed, arms thrown around the boy's neck and shoulders awkwardly, squeezing and hugging and--

"Kurt!"

Edward had stayed out of the way before going to take a look at Kurt. He knew from Blaine and Rachel's reactions that he was awake now, so he could relax a little. Right now, he was standing at the doorway, leaning up against it as he looked inside the room.

"How you feelin'?"

Kurt blinked in surprise at Ed's voice, pushing himself up a little bit on his elbows, staring at the Alchemist in the doorway with something akin to... confusion. Of all the people to come and visit him, he honestly hadn't been expecting Ed. They tended to bicker more than get along.

"Like the living dead," ... there's just no nice way to put it.

Little did Kurt know that Ed was the one who helped Blaine get Kurt inside and stayed with him until Rachel recovered from the event. He also didn't know that Ed had been in the same position, waiting for a loved one to return from this false death that the Animus liked to put others through when they went foolish.

"Yeah? I hear that's a common problem after something like this. Still have any injuries or anything or did you get healed up by Unohana?"
